Hi, I am planning to apply for N400 under the 5-year rule (in Alaska) and I have a couple of questions since I am divorced (no children). I obtained my GC via spouse visa. I entered the US May 2019 (May 2024 marks my 5th year) Filed ROC Feb 2021 Separated by March 2022 ROC approved and received 10-year GC Jan 2023 Filed for divorce March 2023 Divorce finalized May 2023 What documents do I need to prepare, and will I be asked a lot about my previous marriage? Do I also need to bring a certified true copy of the divorce decree (I have the original document) *Just a note, my Philippine passport is in my maiden name while my GC is still in my married name. Will I have a problem with this? Anyone here who has the same situation and has already filed? Any advice? Thank you so much

Hello, just an update. A year ender surprise. My new card is being produced as of yesterday December 30, 2022 without interview. I filed last February 2021 and I came here as spouse visa. My case was stuck to Case Is Ready to Be Scheduled for an Interview since November 24, 2021. I expected it to take longer than usual process since I have an MSC case. I even changed address while waiting for my greencard. I had my biometrics in North Carolina then months after transferred my address to NJ. I only followed up my case last November 2021, I only used the chat customer service from the USCIS website just to verify if they have my new address. I regularly check my case status hoping for good news. It wasn’t an easy process for me, I also went through a lot of stress and anxiety but I just have to be strong. Patience is a virtue. Hoping everyone will receive good news this coming New Year! have a blessed New Year to everyone!
