My naturalization interview was last Friday here in California. After being recommended for approval, since there was still going to be an oath ceremony the same day, I was directed to a different room on the same floor.
There they took the picture for the naturalization certificate, I handed over my Green Card which was invalidated (punched with holes) on the spot, we waited 10-15 mins for the ceremony to start, and afterward were handed the certificates. The officer reminded everyone to double and triple check the spelling on the certificate (very much applicable to me with several first names and a complicated last name) because if we left the building, getting a corrected certificate would be an expensive and a long process.
