  2. This is a common situation. Follow this advice: And do this before the deadline listed on the I-485 denial for you to leave the U.S. I believe your denial gives you 33 days from the date of the denial to leave. Keep in mind that nearly a year has past, and now I-864 needs your wife’s tax year 2022 tax return transcript that she ib April 2023.

  5. "The report says is that while Licht would be focusing on programming and editorial strategy, Leavy will deal with operational logistics, marketing, and P.R. among other tasks. “[W]hile Leavy will officially report up to Licht, the new org chart belies the true nature of his position.” Perhaps the want to give Licht more bandwidth to move CNN to be more neutral and fire more Lemons.
  6. I did not take my gc out of my wallet except to show to INS, DHS, and after the post 9/11 security theater emerged, the DMV. Relatively rare compared to showing a DL or credit card. Granted the DL is removed too many times from the wallet, such as for TSA theater, or showing at the exit of a rental If you live south of I-10, or travel to any of the territories enough, eventually 100%. I'd say at least once a week, I see post here or other places where an LPR forgot their gc before leaving the U.S. Seems more likely that will happen than getting mugged. Neither has ever happened to me. I know someone who left his wallet with his gc, SS card (???), and DL locked in his car to go on a hike, and came back to find his car broken into to. That cannot happen to me, because I do not lock my wallet in my car. These days my passport card has replaced my gc in my wallet.
  7. 1. Is she in the U.S. now? 2. Are you a U.S. citizen?
  8. Does he plan to live in the U.S. after his father enters the U.S. on his IR-5?
  9. The NVC step is indeed the time to correct physical and mailing addresses.
  10. Yes Yes You can search for threads on visajourney “domicile” site:visajourney.com There is https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-1-submit-a-petition/i-864-affidavit-faqs.html#aos18 but it is not helpful. Also a U.S. bank account, U.S. credit card, car registered in U.S. Definitely the bank account. Is there a reason why the son does not want to establish actual domicile?
  11. Has nothing to do with embassy if the father travels with or before the son once the IR-5 In general I recommend the petitioner (the son), establish domicile in the U.S. now: * state DL / ID * lease / deed on a home * job in the U.S.
  12. Not all embassies allow this Entering together is fine but they mist present themselves to the same CBP at the same time.
  13. She is no longer in the U.S. Her sole option is consulate processing.
  14. not out of luck Son needs to enter the U.S. before (or at the same time) his father enters the U.S. on his IR-5 visa. In addition, the son must establish domicile or a convincing plan for domicile before the IR-5 visa is issued.
  15. Some (most?) consulates bifurcate citizen services from visa and LPR services. So proceed with a separate appointment for crba.
  16. No. I waited until the CA DMV offered a free REAL ID upgrade and this had no effect on my license to drive. I would delay as long as possible to give the SAVE record time to ferment.
  17. If she gets her 125 percent through her own income, SS retirement, and/or unemployment insurance, no support is due from you. If she falls below 125 percent, you make up the difference. If she gets public charge, the government can require reimbursement from you.
  18. IME online AR-11s get two acknowledgements through email and paper AR-11s are ignored. YMMV. Every I-865 I sent was acknowledged by mail, and every acknowledgment listed me as the alien being supported, despite the fact I am a U.S. citizen. Well at least I can say I complied with this busy work. The address for AR-11 differs from the address for I-865. It does not. Do AR-11 online to increase the odds that it will have an effect. I hope the mailing address of your 10 year gc is not changing with this AR-11.
