  1. Well scientifically it is possible for a parent to be a half sibling. If the DNA test shows that the F-4 petitioner is the biological parent, and the beneficiary was legitimated, go for it.
  2. After St George Walker (aka Michelle Obama’s bf) fired a U.S. attorney who failed to indict Democrats whom the GOP believed stole the 2004 WA state gubernatorial election, oddly President Obama did not hunt St W like President Biden hunts Trump. It just goes to show: if you are going to “interfere” with an election, make your successor’s wife your gf first. And the current first lady has history of having a boyfriend while married, so this should have been easy. Sadly Trump was never on speaking terms with St W, and so this valuable wisdom was not imparted.
  3. You have one year from the later of: * when I-130 was approved or * if applicable, when the priority date was current in the date of filing chart of the visa bulletin to actively seek a visa. If you do not, the approved I-130 can be canceled. Exception: you notify NVC that you are still interested in a visa but not at this time. You should notify within 364 days of I-130 approval / currency. You can keep delaying your NVC steps, but you need to keep notifying NVC of your interest. No more than 364 days between notices. No more than 6 months to be safe.
  4. Administrative Processing You should get * U.S. mobile phone number * U.S. DL / state ID * offer for job in U.S.
  5. In December, ask for an ADIT. https://www.uscis.gov/newsroom/alerts/uscis-announces-additional-mail-delivery-process-for-receiving-adit-stamp
  6. You will likely lose esta if you try this. A and B are the same thing and require a visa. Since C and D take place with you outside the U.S. the visa question is irrelevant and the visa will be denied.
  7. Good. As expected. Congrats. Let us know when visa is in hand. Since this is IR-5, there is no reason to delay entering the U.S. once visa is in hand.
  8. Yes DIY should work most of the time. efile is better
  9. I disagree with those reasons. BBC (for example) posts its content to youtube and has reporters in U.S. For example Jon Sopel’s (a UK citizen) interview of President Obama from 2015 that was recorded inside the U.S. OP, like the BBC, does not work for Youtube, Google, or Alphabet, or their foreign subsidiaries, and is presumably based outside the U.S.
  10. You will need a visa. Try for an I visa ( https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/employment/visas-members-foreign-media-press-radio.html ).
  11. They will only get a CC if you file N-600. Which you should only do after you have applied for and received their U.S. passports They will get GCs only if you pay this fee: https://www.uscis.gov/forms/filing-fees/uscis-immigrant-fee I do not recommend this. If your plan was to file I-130 only to get them U.S. passports and then move them out of U.S., IMO the passport agency will sniff that out and make it difficult. N-600K is the better play in that case.
  12. So no actual data supporting the claim pf 60 percent approval? https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Statistics/Non-Immigrant-Statistics/NIVWorkload/FY2022NIVWorkloadbyVisaCategory.pdf K1 21,351 issued 3,192 refused
  13. I think unless you show evidence that a divorce was filed with a court in your state or her state of residence that your I-751 will be rejected.
  14. In theory that is impossible because pre-facial recognition kiosks for LPRs are tied to the green card not a foreign passport. But I have some hypotheses …. * Did she use U.S. passport at the GE kiosks at YYC? * Did she use her Nexus card at the Nexus kiosks at YYC? Or, * Were the GE kiosks at YYC set up for facial recognition? IME, (though it has been over a year for me at YYC) every GE user still has to be processed by a CBPO after being processed by a kiosk (kinda useless most days). Cool
  15. There is data published for FY 1992 and later (https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/family-preference-cut-off-dates/Cut-off Dates Worldwide_Online_FY22.pdf ) Relative to October 1991, the worst year for retrogression was FY2006, going from September 1999 in July to U (unauthorized) in August and again September. FY2023 does look like the second worst, and the year is not over. The norm is for F2A to not be current. The long string of Cs we saw from 2019 onward was without precedent since 1991.
  16. Cannot hurt. Costs nothing. Might help. Label this as a “wedding reception” and not “another wedding” as per the topic title. The later could hurt.
  17. 6 years actually. It was current earlier this year. 6 years of retrogress in 4 months.
