  1. If you need to drive after the 10th day, get an AB60 drivers license. Even citizens get AB60s. I had one as an LPR and U.S. citizen for years. IME the penalty for residents driving with out of state DL is severe. I did not repeat that mistake the second time I moved to Cali.
  2. https://www.grammarly.com/blog/quotation-marks/ we list out the six main uses for quotation marks. 1 Quote a source directly I was quoting a term used by the State Department. So my use of quotation marks was correct. You thought this was my purpose in the use of that term: 4 Set apart a word to show irony, sarcasm, or skepticism (scare quotes) This is twice now that you have explicitly inferred ill intent from me. I’ve contributed all I can, and I don’t wish to argue or bicker, so I won’t post more in this thread.
  3. Same way a U.S. border officer knows you are a American citizen if you show up with passport from another country. Or no passport at all. Especially an American born in America. Similarly, how does a Russian CO issue passports to Russians abroad who have lost their Russian passports? The same way an American CO issues passports to Americans abroad who have lost their American passports. If anything, it might be easier for a Russian border officer or CO, because of “internal passports” discussed in https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/RussianFederation.html Also it would not surprise me if Russian border and consular officers have verification by facial recognition as CBP has. People across the world lose their documents, and manage to get re-documented. If one can be re-documented, then one’s citizenship can be re-verified without documents.
  4. Perhaps * Russian citizens have an absolute right to enter Russia * Russian embassies hand out visas to Russian citizens like American embassies hand out visas to U.S. citizens.
  5. K-1 and K-2 visas are not immigrant visas, and I would not expect any relief from FRP to K-1 and K-2 visa beneficiaries, especially since the beneficiaries are not members of the petitioners’ families: the F in FRP stands for Family.
  6. I have seen both. Oppenheimer is interesting but difficult to follow like most Nolan movies. I had the advantage of having read the novel The Oppenheimer Alternative. Barbie however inadvertently ended up being a message that was anti-feminist and pro-patriarchal. spoiler alert … The second act depicts a Ken-dom that is manifestly superior and less vapid than the Barbie-land it replaced. In Ken-dom, while males are now dominant, the hold females with less disdain than females held males in the original Barbie-land of the first act. By the third act, Barbie-land is partially restored, with males now holding more power than in the first Act. The male protagonist is no longer a slave forced to live on the beach and do only beach stuff. I think you have to go back to the 1980s to when there were two anti woke movies slaying the box office.
  7. I-485 is available to B visa holders who entered without immigration intent. He is not in the U.S. Therefore he is not eligible for I-485.
  8. Ive a colleague whose Russian born wife successfully entered Russia on her U.S. passport, but was blocked from leaving until she could produce a Russian passport. Which she did after at least several weeks. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiple_citizenship Ukrainian law currently does not recognise dual citizenship, while not explicitly banning it. Citizens of Ukraine who hold multiple nationalities are only recognized as Ukrainian on Ukrainian soil, and their other citizenships are ignored. In the past, bills to criminalize the act of holding two citizenships in 2014[180] or to automatically revoke the Ukrainian one upon obtaining another in 2017[181] have been submitted, but none had been made law. As of 2021, the bill being worked on aims to allow multiple citizenships as long as they are reported and such citizens do not work in governments. Dual citizenships are planned to be fully established with the European Union and, in the context of the annexation of Crimea and the war in Donbas, explicitly forbidden with Russia.[182][183]
  9. Asking me the same question multiple times and expecting a different answer is not going to get you the result you want. Now is it possible NVC and the CO will forget or ignore the Child Citizenship Act of 2000, and let you get away with I-864EZ? Sure it is. I’ve see it. The department of state is riddled with people who do not grasp immigration law. I have also seen NVC or COs issue RFEs for I-864W. Beats me why you want I-864EZ instead of I-864W. So why do you?
  10. i have missed nothing. Nor am I peddling esta as permitted solution yes. IOW OP language is not relevant Yes, like OP
  11. And cannot fedex it? I renew my DL online, so this is never an issue for me. In the event my DL has expired while abroad and the new one is not in hand, I would take a ride share home from the airport, unless the online renewal permits me to drive with receipt. I’ve contributed all I can, and I don’t wish to argue or bicker, so I won’t post more in this thread.
  12. There was apparently an error in the first stamping. The phrase “cancelled without prejudice” means that you have the right to apply for new visa. And 3 days later that is exactly what happened. So you are good to go.
  13. You were given solid advice from @Crazy Cat . If you do not want to follow that advice then your beneficiary can file N-400 in 5 years to become a U.S. citizen. Being worried shows that your heart is in the right place. However good intentions alone are not enough. Ask yourself if you have it in you to see this process through: * get your child a visa before December 1. * bring your child into the U.S. before December 1. * After entry into the US, take your child to SSA to get an SSN * After the SSN is in hand, take your child to the state motor vehicles department to get for your child’s state ID * Once the state ID is in hand, take your child to post office to apply for your child’s US passport book and passport card * Once the U.S. passport is in hand, file N-600 for your child to get a certificate of citizenship. If you will not today, commit to yourself and your child your willingness and commitment to do all of the above, then inform your child and NVC that all this is too much effort, and instead * you have decided your child will bot be taking advantage of the benefits of the Child Citizenship Act of 2000 (CCA2000). * withdraw the I-864W and replace it with an I-864. Now you will be responsible for ensuring your child has a minimum income of $1500 per month for life. * remind your child to pay the immigrant fee to get a green card This way you have no responsibilities other than the I-864 obligation, and your child, as an 18 year old adult will be legally empowered to: * go to SSA alone * go to the motor vehicles department alone * file N-400 alone in 5 years * apply for a passport alone in 6 years But if you want your child to benefit from CCA2000, then you need to be proactive, now. Let us know what you your strategy is for your child: CCA2000 or N-400. If the former, follow the advice you have been given before it is too late.
  14. So did you take Cat’s advice 2 weeks ago?
  15. Understood. For this reason, my passport card and passport book are kept in separate locations, so that a single point of failure does not render me as an undocumented alien. I live in a state will will not grant state ID or state DL to people who cannot show authorized presence so this always worries me.
  16. The entire point of this exercise was to get her a credit card that has her name on it. If mom cannot bring a credit card to the airport or cannot fedex it to your physical address in the U.S. (the latter requiring you to use ride share for a day), then you are back to: So you might as well try it, and have mom bring / send the credit card as plan B. Plan C is you get a drivers license. I am surprised the embassy accepted your domicile claims without a U.S. state ID or state DL.
  17. The $150 file search might work, but getting a passport application acceptance clerk to accept that without any photo ID is likely to be a challenge. Plan B will be to pay the I-90 fee, and then get his ADIT ( https://www.uscis.gov/newsroom/alerts/uscis-announces-additional-mail-delivery-process-for-receiving-adit-stamp ), unless the new GC arrives fast. The clerk might still require state photo ID. The ADIT lets him get state photo ID. Next time get him a passport card as well as a passport book.
  18. Canadians have an absolute right to enter Canada. I’ve traveled from India to Canada on my Canadian passport several times.
  19. Yes you need that. Legally you are covered. In practice, experiences are mixed.
  20. You can add her as an authorized user from Chase’s website or its app. Calling might lead to denial as more questions get asked, and possibly canceling your account.
  21. No it cannot be retained. Each parent should have filed an I-130 for you in 2018.
  22. I did this once 40 years ago. I would not recommend assuming it will work. IME, Chase let’s you add authorized users who do not have SSNs. I did this for my fiancee years before she moved to the U.S.
