HOW LOW CAN BLUE CITIES SINK? [merged threads]

Good catch. I erroneously thought B visas were immune from the canada / mexico / nearby islands rule since https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/tourism-visit/visitor.html does not discuss it. So granny will have to go to costa rica to try to reset.

Robotyne has fallen. If Tokmak, 15 miles to the south falls, Russia will lose a useful rail transfer station and the the goal of retaking Crimea becomes less unrealistic. And Tokmak is now in artillery range. So if Ukraine stalls, it can destroy the rail links and the one road into Tokmal that can carry heavy equipment. https://12ft.io/proxy?q=https%3A%2F%2Fhotair.com%2Fjohn-s-2%2F2023%2F08%2F31%2Fukraine-has-taken-robotyne-and-crossed-russias-first-line-of-defense-n575131

75 days is a long time. How confident are you that your I-751 will not denied while you are put of the country? When I-751 is denied while in the U.S., easy remedy: file a new I-751. When denied while outside the U.S., an attempt re-enter the U.S. can, at CBP’s discretion, land you in CBP detainment and then ICE custody. I think you should abbreviate the trip or force a decision with WoM:

of course Huh? The reward is a 10 month stay.
-
My wife’s attorney, with 25 years experience in the practice of immigration law, disagrees. I-751 approved in 12 months, no RFE. The nearer the date of signature to the date I-751 is filed, the better. Some ISOs ignore these statements of bonafide relationship, notarized or not, regardless of date. Personally, I think statements from relatives and non-citizens are worthless.

As per my previous comment there is no age out -
High chance she will be denied entry since a B visa is wrong for this purpose. USCIS stay extensions are ineffective Murphy’s Law says that on the day she leaves, CBP has set up exit controls for her flight or land port Surprisingly https://www.cbp.gov/sites/default/files/assets/documents/2019-Mar/2019 Carrier Information Guide - ENGLISH.pdf does not say she needs a return / onward ticket. Check iatatravelcentre.com though 1. Exit the U.S. to Canada or Mexico on day 120 of I-94 authorized stay, and then attempt to re-enter. CBP can say yes or it can say no. If yes, ideally it is a 6 month I-94. 2. Low percentage yet legal: request a 10 month stay at the port of entry. https://fam.state.gov/FAM/09FAM/09FAM040202.html Although “temporary” is not specifically defined by either statute or regulation, it generally signifies a limited period of stay. The fact that the period of stay in a given case may exceed six months or a year is not in itself controlling, if you are satisfied that the intended stay has a time limitation and is not indefinite in nature.

I doubt India and China will send troops to Ukraine. 1. Not good for China Inc’s brand. 2. For India and China to formally align, India would need China to end its alliance with Pakistan and to withdraw from Kashmir and other disputed territory. China does not give up land. I am having a tough time believing Indian voters would support conceding Kashmir to prop up Vlad. 3. As for India, * Imagine the howling in India as tens of millions of Indian visa holders are sent home and western union and money gram payments from the West are shut down. * I doubt any elected government in india would survive in Parliament * If Parliament didn’t force the troops to come home, the Indian Army would takeover. About the only country willing to fight a foreign war for a decade or more is the U.S. * Vietnam: 19 years * Afghanistan: 20 years * Iraq: 18 years As Eisenhower warned us and the world: Nobody has America’s commitment to war. I agree with both these points. But the CiA is out of control and will try anyway.

CiA after several whiskeys: “Completion of the Marshall Plan and the transformation of NATO into a pan American/European/Asian alliance backed by 12,000 war heads versus the China / NK / Pakistan axis of < 1000, and total control of Russian oil”. The $100B the U.S. has spent is merely a rounding error. GDP of U.S.: $23T GDP of EU: $17T GDP of UK: $3T GDP of Russia: $1.8T Russia can no more bankrupt the West than the South could bankrupt the North in 1861, Japan bankrupt the U.S. in 1941, or the USSR bankrupt NATO in 1949 And the F-16s are free: they were headed to boneyards anyway. Don’t get me wrong. This mess was caused by Obama stirring the pot in Ukraine. Ukraine should have been converted into a fully neutral country years ago, before Crimea, with no path to join NATO. The current situation is a direct result of State / CIA collusion to con at least 3 US presidents into doing dangerous things. State / CIA conned Putin into invading Ukraine because they wanted Russia to conquer fast to let the CIA set up the insurgency. Alas no one thought to check with Ukrainians if they would follow the script.

While the lawyer is partially correct in a legal sense, for some FOs, the lawyer is 100 percent correct in a practical sense. At at least two FOs I know of, it has been reported that if N-400 is filed while pending: * The same ISO must adjudicate both cases * only a select few ISOs are authorized / trained to adjudicate both cases * a combo interview must be held. Meaning that once N-400 is filed, the possibility of an I-751 interview waiver goes out the window The effect then is to delay both cases.

What are your dates of * birth * I-130 filed * I-130 approved -
IMO, what the CBP officer does at the port of entry has a strong influence on what USCIS does when it produces your GC. I have read of cases where the officer wrote IR-1 on the endorsement of the CR-1 and others where he refused to do so, saying it is up to USCIS to handle it. And most times, in the latter case, USCIS issues the 2 year GC by mistake. As @Crazy Cat states, the law does not give discretion. And yet, mistakes in ghetto IR-1s are reported on VJ several times a year. I think when ghetto IR-1 and IR-2 visa holders arrive at a port of entry, they should: * bring an original marriage certificate * to the extent the set up at the CBP arrivals hall allows, select the oldest appearing CBP officer to approach. That officer has seen it all and done it all. It can take over 2 years for I-90 to produce a new GC. So whatever the beneficiary should whatever is possible to influence the outcome.

Filing for SSN before or after marriage, K1
Mike E replied to rierose's topic in Social Security Numbers
In general best results occur when you apply for an SSN: * 2-10 working days after before date of entry, and * before marriage As @Ontarkie frequently points out, the SSA policy memo says a K-1 fiance(e) is eligible to file for an SSN. Some SS workers interpret this to mean that a married K-1 is not eligible for an SSN. -
Anyone who knows Russian military history knows the Russians get kicked around early in the war, fire their bad generals, train a new army, and then come back and win. Whatever and win what, exactly? True, Russia’s population is shrinking, but with a couple hundred million of them they have a nearly endless supply of cannon fodder. The innumeracy of the author is laughable. Russia has not had 200 million people in decades. And of the 147 million left, where is Russia getting the money to put a tenth them all in uniform, even if we embrace the fantasy that there are even as many 14 million able bodied and willing potential fighters? So, we have to do something And yet he does not say what we should do. Any option that has Ukraine conceding land is a non starter for obvious reasons. The CIA plan was to bankrupt Russia with a post conquest insurgency after Russia “won” in 2 weeks. Instead the status quo bankrupts Russia faster.
