  1. Get this for your mother: https://www.ssa.gov/forms/ssa-7050.pdf does she have just 5 years of physical presence?
  2. Big, small are meaningless. The metric system doesn’t have a unit of measurement for size of a lie. How do you objectively decide Santos should not be sat in Congress versus say Lindsay Graham?
  3. I don’t know what percentage of time. It comes up several times a month here and other websites.
  4. When was this? CBSA updated its website in April 2022 to clarify that extension letters were acceptable.
  5. You can call USCIS, say “info pass”, and request an I-551 stamp after your extension letter expires and when you need the extension. now. Why pay for an I-90 and N-400? I don’t recommend that. Name changes can *lengthen the amount of time to take oath, or * decouple the oath from the processing of the change of name document. The change of name document is can be delayed indefinitely. You can end up with no green card, and end up with a naturalization certificate in your new name that is useless without the change of name document. You are then effectively a non person. Instead naturalize in your current name. Then change your name through state court. Quicker and simpler.
  6. 1. “Nearly” a vague term. Quantify it. 2. Are you more offended by Santos lying or by the lies, W, his appointees, and various elected officials said about WMDs in Iraq?
  7. I hope Santos is punished for lying thus setting the precedent for removing every elected official. No more elections. No more democracy. Works for me.
  8. She should just get on a plane and come home. She should refuse to sign I-407 Copy paste: See: https://www.aila.org/File/Related/18110604b.pdf for break down of the legalities https://help.cbp.gov/s/article/Article-3671?language=en_US#:~:text=The CBP officer will collect, final determination on your case for CBP’s published policy for returns are long absences https://www.cbp.gov/sites/default/files/assets/documents/2021-Dec/Reminder- LPR Boarding 20210305.pdf for CBP’s warning to airlines that they should board LPRs with valid green cards https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/778159-green-card-almost-expired/?do=findComment&comment=10628083 is the conclusion of a story where an LPR was absent for 9 years and returned just before the gc expired. Later successfully renewed the gc and apparently received it 2 weeks later.
  9. https://www.cpr.org/2019/09/11/in-1936-colorado-closed-its-southern-border-to-certain-migrants-for-10-days/ The term “border control” typically conjures immigration discussions on a national scale and images of walls and patrols on the U.S.-Mexico border. But 85 years ago, Colorado closed its southern border and deployed a militia to stop other Americans in need from entering the state. 1936: when states understood what the word “state” meant.
  10. In fairness, Polis has dismayed many wokes in Colorado for his pragmatic governing. Given his sexual preferences, it makes him impervious from their attacks.
  11. My wife filed about the same time and her interview is January 31 It appears USCIS has adopted a last in first out policy for most new N-400 cases. Thus is terrible for those who have waited years and will continue to wait years.
  12. Simply counter to our experience. As weak as an Indian passport is, a Burmese passport is at least twice as weak. We’ve flown and cruised to Mexico on an expired gc e/ extension letter. What airline did you enter? Delta will not board you. If you would feel more comfortable getting a visa you should attempt to do so.
  13. Then as @Dashinka wrote it is almost certain you can read the interview letter now if you log into your USCIS account and look at the documents tab. When lawfully notified me that my wife’s interview was scheduled, we immediately logged into her USCIS account and her interview letter was there in the documents tab. It took a full two weeks before the letter arrived in the mail. So I would get busy locating that letter on the website. I’ve never heard of an online N-400 bit having the interview letter not posted on the website.
  14. Given the coming I-485, I-865, I-131, and I-751 fee hikes it would be blessing if your I-129F was lost as I-130 end to end will be less expensive. Bit as others have said, it is all but certain to be processed.
  15. I would like a rule relaxation that lets us discuss whether a story is the Bee or not before the OP reveals the link.
  16. We’ve done it a couple times by land. At the land port where we entered on foot (Nogales) there was no passport / document check entering Mexico both times. On return to the U.S., CBP checked for green card and extension letter. If you drive in, I suppose it is a different story. Not an option for us. Our auto insurance doesn’t let us drive into Mexico, and I wouldn’t do that regardless.
  17. Study computer science in UK. Get a job with a U.S. company with operations in the British Isles. Get a transfer visa to the USA. File to adjust status to a green card holder. F-1 with intent to immigrate can cause problems down the road. F-1 is unfortunately a single intent non immigrant visa. Tuition will be costly.
  18. Interesting. They have capabilities to resist the use of force against you. Is your wife planning on immigrating to U.S?
  19. U.S. law is clear. You must leave and enter the USA on your U.S. passport. I don’t know about Ghana law, but generally you must enter and leave a country of which you are a citizen on that country’s passport. So you would present both passports to the airline on each end. At passport control in Ghana show your Ghana passport. At passport control in USA, show your U.S. passport.
