  1. Unless says “your conditional permanent resident status is extended” it isn’t an extension letter. You should have received one by now.
  2. Green cards can be rescinded. If DIY I’d call USCIS to have a tier 2 officer call me regarding my case. If the tier 2 didn’t call the. With 10 working days before the RFE deadline I’d get the medical. If I was using a lawyer, I’d follow the lawyer’s advice.
  3. Chancy’s answer is all you need to know. As an aside, if you and your wife have been working in the USA for the past 5 years (dating from when you became an LPR) then it is likely that combined, the two of you, have earned 40 social credits in that period. If so, the I-864 is voided.
  4. Weeks, months, or never. i wouldn’t wait for it. Go to the SSA office and get one.
  5. A spouse moving to the USA and/or losing previous health insurance coverage and/or terminating employment is a qualifying life event (QLE) at every employer provided health insurance plan I’ve had. A QLE permits enrollment outside the annual enrollment period. Your husband qualifies for at least one of those three QLEs and maybe two or three if he was working and/or had health insurance. If your employer won’t honor the QLE, then he can use the QLE to purchase ACA insurance at healthcare.gov. Then at the next open enrollment at work you can add him. You typically have 30 days to exercise a QLE to obtain health insurance. So within 30 days of entering the USA for him.
  6. USCIS has issued 12 month, 18 month, and 24 month extension letters in mass mailings. Thus far it does not issue custom extension letters for individuals. Given the I-751 backlog continues to grow, we can expect 30 month extension letters this year. USCIS should simply admit reality and issue 60 month extension letters but the political fall out would be too high. An extension letter extends an expired gc. Without the gc, the extension letter is useless for travel and work. An I-551 stamp comes in two form factors: * A I-551 stamp on a foreign passport. This can be used for travel, work, and state motor vehicles department * An I-94 with an I-551 stamp. This can be used for travel and to get an unrestricted SS card. In some states the unrestricted SS card and the I-551 on I-94 can be used to get a state ID. With state ID and the unrestricted SS card one can work. In theory you can get new I-551 stamps as the previous one expires. In practice USCIS field offices are getting stamp fatigue and now some offices refuse to issue one.
  7. 1. Does your current income meet the requirement? 2. Does your 2021 taxable income fall short of the requirement?
  8. It’s rare for a K-1/2 to get a 10 year. If they do it is because: * mistake by USCIS. The K-1 still has to file I-751 2 years later * first I-485 was rejected and so the K-1 refilled I-485 * K-1 married on time but waited well past I-94 expiration to file I-485 * USCIS took too long to decide the case, despite the I-485 being filed before I-94 expired * couple did a proxy or online marriage before K-1 visa issued and didn’t consummate until after the K-1 arrived
  9. Forget about the NY court marriage thing. 1. Get a Utah zoom wedding marriage license now (but no sooner than 3 weeks before he arrives as the license is good for 30 days) https://www.utahcounty.gov/dept/clerkaud/PassMarr/RemoteAppearanceFAQ.asp and 2. Two working days after he arrives, go to the social security office to apply for his SSN. Sone SSA employees will not process SSN applications of the K-1 is married. He must do this while single. 3. get married. 4. the Utah zoom marriage certificate will be emailed to you within 24 hours. Print it. 5. file the I-485 package once you’ve printed the marriage certificate 6. the paper marriage certificate will be mailed to you. Bring it to the I-485 interview You can have this all done in a week.
  10. My wife managed to provide less than 5 years of evidence of travel. In fact she provided less than 3 years because when she filed she had not been an LPR for 3 years. And she still hasn’t been an LPR for 3 years despite having an interview later this month. Some people get a green card, never travel outside the USA, and manage to file N-400. Just don’t mention your travels from before 3 years ago.
  11. It isn’t. USCIS is putting more resources on N-400 than any other service. More than 2 years actually.
  12. You only need 3 years (because you are filing under 3 year rule).
  13. My wife filed n-400 online. i created an USCIs account based on her email address. I could not figure out how to get USCIS account number.
  14. Let me fix that for you: "usually more than 2 years"
  15. RoC is going from $680 (including biometrics) to $1195 Going the CR-1 route can avoid RoC; totally in the control of the beneficiary
  16. Agreed @JeanneAdil (to both of your comments) @mereal has your friend closed his accounts on the online dating sites yet?
  17. Another green card miracle. You've had two in row. Time to take your winnings off the table. Stay home for 5 years and naturalize. Congratulations.
  18. I doubt the ex-gf's accusation will go any where, especially since it seems she was not serious about the relationship. Pay heed though to: That is from an ICE agent. She vehemently disagrees with the consensus view on Visajourney and other web sites that marriage fraud isn't prosecuted. She says she does investigate each case she gets, and here for the first time she notes she got one sent to prison. So if your friend is in a true bonafide relationship with his fiancee, that's wonderful, it will be fine, and best wishes for him and her. But if not, then he doesn't want to meet up with the wrong ICE officer. They should not do K-1 though. CR-1 is better, and don't enter the U.S. until married 2 years to avoid I-751.
  19. OK, so he is alien not the citizen. That's new information. Did his ex-gf start an I-129F for him?
  20. 1. Is he still married to his ex? 2. How did he become a U.S. citizen? 3. Was his ex an LPR? 4. How did his ex become an LPR?
