  1. Yes. She is doing AOS and I-485 for her mom. Is this somehow may affect chances for her mom being approved? She is really worried about that. Her mom is currently employed at the grocery store making $14 per hour. Is it better to get another sponsor? She is worried that the fact that he is an ex husband may affect it somehow.
  2. Hi, my friend asked me to ask a question: She filled out a paper for her mom, who is currently in US - U4U, and helped her with the kid. My friend's income is $0. (used to be a stay home mom) Her ex-husband is making $230k. He filled out I864A as a household member. They are currently in the stage of the divorce, which will be finalized in 1 month (there is no chance i485 will be approved before this time). Her income will not change significantly after divorce. (alimony only) Does she need a joint sponsor (her ex-husband is willing to be the one), or is I864A still applied to their case even if they live in two different households? Does she need to notify USCIS about the divorce? Does she need to send a new I864?
  3. From my understanding, they are not subjects of public charge since Congress granted their benefits. But they have used Cash benefits. So I feel confused about what to answer. Also, do I need to add any benefits info to i485?
  4. Hi. I am filling out i485 for my parents, who come to the States under the U4U program. Under this program, they could get public benefits - snap, medical, and TANF (cash). They received benefits from 12/22 to 03/23. They started working full time on 03/23 with a total annual income of $75k. They will not plan to get any benefits or receive them in the future. Do I need to mark yes on question 61? What about household income? Do I need to include current or past income? Do I need to include how much cash they receive only or foodstamps too?
  5. Volunteers that are helping out with immigration questions for u4u people. as a someone who went through AOS I was very suspicious about it because it is not how it works from my point of view. Thanks everyone!
  6. my mom, dad, and sister in the USA under U4U program. they still have 1,5 year left on their parole my mom i130 was approved my dad i130 still pending I did not file anything for my sister since I am not planning to wait 18 years or how long will it take my question is can she (my sister) go with my mom under her i130 approved as a dependent or not? (I am only asking because people have told me she can) if yes, do I just need to file the same package of papers as for mom mom?
  7. my sister is in the USA. I know that I have to file i130 + i485 together, but we have a month delay with medical, so I thought by filling i130 online and sending i485 + 865 + medical by one month later would not make any difference. But i130 was approved within 3 weeks. so right now I have what I have. my dad i130 still pending. my mom i130 was approved ( they sent a standard message please file i485 and blablabla)
  8. yes, they are under u4u program they still have 1,5 year on they original parole left if its important
  9. Hi, I applied for i130 for both of my parents and it was approved for my mom. My parents have another kid who is 13 right now. Now it is time for me to file i485. Some people are telling me that I also have to file i485 for my sister because she may go as a dependent of my mom since she is under 21. is this true? I did not find any information about it online. if yes, where can I read about it? if no, should my mom file for my sister i130 right after she get her green card? if her i130 will be approved before her visa expired, can she wait for her gc in the USA? (without approved i485) if her i130 will not be approved before her visa expired, is she supposed to leave ?
