  1. @Abuga I genuinely hope it all works out for you. In cases where the immigrant was doing everything right (based on what you knew) and the USC was being deceitful and manipulative, I 100% believe there should be a path to stay in the U.S. I hope that is the case, as @sandranj mentioned above.
  2. I mean, those of us in this specific thread have been waiting slightly over a year. No one should have gone into this thinking it would take less than that amount of time. The people that get approved in less than a year are very few and far between, regardless of service center. I don't see the point of getting caught up in frustrations with ROC when we've still got a good bit of time left on our extension letters. Any of us could get approved at any moment in the coming months. Things can also change at a particular service center at any time - what is fast becomes slow and vice versa. SRC used to be considered one of the fastest service centers when I filed, and now it is mid at best and seems to be languishing. WAC has seemingly sped up. Things will continue to fluctuate and change as time goes on.
  3. You can only send what you've actually got. There is a chance you will get approved before the wedding though, since you've been waiting 8 months already.
  4. I do not think a wedding will qualify for an expediate unfortunately, but as far as evidence - provide the wedding invitation and perhaps an explanation of your relationship to the person getting married. When is the wedding, and when did you originally file for AP?
  5. To clarify, are you both in the U.S. right now, or outside the U.S.?
  6. You should read the details in @mindthegap's signature to understand his frustration. He is not in the same boat as the majority of us waiting for I-751 approvals, where we are waiting 1-2 years with a valid extension letter (which is still ridiculous). He has been waiting much longer and has gotten the runaround for years regarding his ROC filings (yes, plural). I am pointing this out because you made assumptions about his situation in your post here. The reaction you are getting is not directed to you personally, from him or anyone else.
  7. If your ring is on your right hand I don't see how it could be an issue, as many people wear rings on other fingers that have nothing to do with relationship status. I suppose there is a slight chance that someone could question why your partner has 2 rings on her ring finger, since it could be seen as an engagement ring + wedding band. Personally, I would probably just not use or submit pictures where it is easily discernible that she has 2 rings on to avoid having to think about it.
  8. I believe some of this is simply explained by the fact cases go to different people for review/approval. It doesn't matter if 2 different cases were filed 5 minutes apart, if they go to different people they will be reviewed at different speeds. However, I don't understand the disparity between one person getting approved in 2 months and another taking 2+ years when there's no extenuating circumstance that explains it. SRC also seems to just be doing barely anything lately, at least for ROC.
  9. LOL I wonder if a supervisor looked it over and was like "why are you asking them for more info??? we have enough!" and approved it. Sorry you got someone with a bad attitude for your interview, but congrats on the happy update.
  10. Waiting 2+ years for I-751 to be approved is common. Especially for certain service centers. Was the I-751 filed jointly, and are you still married and living with your spouse? If so, your spouse has already been eligible to file N-400 based on the 3 year rule and can file any time for that (assuming they meet all eligibility requirements). Some people get faster results doing this, because N-400 processing tends to be quicker and the I-751 is moot once citizenship is approved.
  11. Unless you were somehow arranging "clients" for your mother (as a minor, no less) and taking a cut of her pay to buy things for yourself, this question does not apply to you whatsoever and you should answer NO. This question is basically asking if you have ever benefitted financially by engaging in or promoting prostitution yourself.
  12. Yep scheduling oath ceremony means the I-751 is now irrelevant. Some people get an update on the I-751 but it's not unusual for it to not change since the N-400 approval takes precedence. Congrats!
  13. Did tracking show that it was delivered? If so, what date? And what address did you mail it to?
  14. It's sad how little faith we are able to have in their ability to be helpful or efficient. Well, if we end up filing N-400 in the next week or so, I'll certainly update here if there is any extension mentioned on my husband's receipt notice.
  15. Oh wow. I wonder if this will apply to those with concurrent I-751 filings and eliminate the frustrating issue of trying to get an ADIT stamp for some people who get lost in I-751 limbo for 2+ years. My husband is eligible for N-400 now. The online application is almost done, so we will definitely wait until after 12-12-22 to see if the receipt has this language.
  16. 1-2 weeks is standard, but longer isn't unusual. Do you have informed delivery with USPS? And what date was the package actually delivered?
  17. At this point I'll just be glad if they approve it before the 24 month extension expires (or that N-400 is approved, but we are waiting until January or February to file it).
  18. It's only been a few days. Electronic notifications usually come though after 3-7 days, though some people do not get them at all even though they did include the correct form. Receipt notice is mailed so takes longer. 1-2 weeks is common but it is not unusual for it to be longer than that.
  19. Unfortunately, this is very common. The "ready to be scheduled for interview" status is basically meaningless. It has become more and more common for ROC applications to take 2+ years to be approved, and taking over a year is the norm.
  20. I received electronic notification on 11-5-2021. The packet was mailed on 11-2-2021, so it was very quick. As a side note, I didn't save the text so I referred to the email notification I received that I saved. I paid by credit card, so a little different than paying by check. The credit card charge showed up on 11-4-2021, so within 48 hours. We received the NOA within a week, though I don't recall the exact date. It was dated 11-4-2021 though.
