  2. Just remember anytime an immigration benefit is obtain through a USC. This is your situation exactly. There will be extra scrutiny. Divorce just four months after naturalizing then petitioning a spouse will raise flags. There has been many thread on here that discuss the 5 yr wait to be able to petition a spouse when you naturalized through a USC. Might want to look into this.

  6. FIL check their Edwards (not a cost plus version) Large eggs were 5.99 a dozen, jumbo are 7.99 a dozen. My backyard hens lay bigger then jumbo 99% of the time. I get a few smaller eggs here from my big hen. My banties I keep those eggs for myself. Farm stands are selling for more then 7 a dozen, if you want organic even more.
  7. Expedites are usually granted only for the USC petitioner's emergencies. Try but be prepared for a no. She cannot volunteer at any place which would normally pay for that position. It cannot be a position that will turn to a paid position later either. She cannot work without and EAD. Have you looked into what she would need for licensing in the US? It may not be something that transfers just like that to the US.

  13. Kids just brought in the eggs. 4 eggs today.
  14. That is just crazy. Yesterday the hens gave us 6 eggs. Today the temps have dipped to 'feels' like 42 so I'm not sure we will get a good number again.
  15. I keep meaning to look into those, but so far I haven't had enough to save. The first year before I have too many customers, I froze some. That was ok but the yolks don't stay runny if you want fired eggs or something. I just used them for baking and that was ok.
  16. That's rough all the way around. I know a lady who has these huge barrel drums she put eggs in them i think with lime. Is that the same as glassing them? It might be what we need to do if things keep going crazy out there.
  17. Oh my goodness. That really sucks. We went through the coop last summer to inspect for week spots. A racoon was around way too much. Are cheap coop from Tractor supply was showing it's age and one got into that. So we moved them all into the big coop and doubled checked it. I'm going to go around and check out the prices. I thought maybe $4 a dozen but that still may not cover feed costs.
  18. What are eggs going for in your area? I recently looked at the prices in Edwards Cost Plus and for a messily dozen eggs they wanted 8.99, in Central Arkansas I need to check Kroger and Walmart the next time I'm in there. We have chickens so egg buying has not been something I've done in the last 5 years. I am raising the price of eggs that we sell. I was selling them for $3 a dozen but feed has gone from 16.99 to 22.99 in the last few years. I don't buy the cheapest but also the not the most expensive feed. I like the result of nice big eggs that taste great.
  19. ~~THread moved to NVC, from DCF- as it involves NVC~~
  20. I got the extra warranty, problem is if something is not working right out of the box. I should not have to start fixing it.
  21. Glad GE is doing something about it. Well I'm still without a properly working fridge. From the first delivery of that GE fridge back in August. I've returned 5, 2 where damaged and never really got off the truck, 3 could not keep temperatures. I called Costco and just got a refund. The price of that darn fridge it needed to have a perfect temperature non of this yoyoing up to 42 degrees when it is set at 36. I don't know what I'm going to do right now I'm using my old old fridge, but it has issues too. I did buy another freezer and so far so good there. So if this old one goes I can toss everything in there. I keep thermometers in it with alarms to my phone so we won't lose all that food if it does.

  24. Not new at all. It's been this way for the last 15 yrs i've been on VJ. It's more like you got lucky that you had someone who was clueless and didn't think by getting married you voided your visa. That is one of the biggest issue and why some many of us say to get the social before marriage. It just saves a headache.
