  2. ~~Zombie thread locked to further replies.~~
  3. ~~Duplicate post in another member's thread has been removed. Please do not post something more than once. Also attachment removed. Please do not post any type of attachment with visible personal information. VJ can be read by anyone and some do not have good intentions.~~
  4. When you go to get her SSN do not apply for it in her married name. The name will not match. Do not even mention you got married. Some of the employees think if you got married the visa is invalid and will not process the application. Get her AOS filled in with her married name and when the EAD or GC comes in then go back to SS and get her name updated.
  5. ~~Hijack post and related replies split off to their own thread. PLease do not post questions of your own case in other member's threads.~~
  6. ~~Moved to the Regional forum, from K1 P&P - as the OP is looking for consulate specific answers.~~
  7. ~~Related threads merged, and edited. Please do not post attachments with personal information showing.~~
  8. ~~Thread locked to further replies. The OP is no longer trying to figure out birth in the US and merging threads will just focus on the birthing in the US.~~
  9. ~~One post removed along with a reply. Please stick to helping the OP's case.~~
  10. ~~Post split off to its own thread from another thread with similar experience. It's best to keep your own case in a separate thread as having multiple cases in one thread can cause confusion or your question goes unanswered.~~
  11. ~~Hijack post and related reply split off to its own thread. For the sake of all reading it is best to keep individual experiences in there own thread. It helps keeping the proper replies in order.~~
  12. ~~Moved to the Canada forum, from Ir1/CR2 Progress Report~~
  13. Even if the birth certificate list a man who is not her father? Submitting documents with errors can bite her in the butt.
  14. As I understand it, your biological father was never listed on your BC? Your 1st step father is listed on the BC? Then when you filled in the immigration forms you listed the man you call your dad as your father? If got this right then get the birth certificate fixed with either bio dads name or left blank if that is possible. If you cannot get your bio dad listed on your birth certificate you leave it blank and then you can leave that place blank on the immigration forms. Then you can write a note that in error you listed your step father as he was the one who raised you.
  15. ~~Moved to Tourist Visas, from IR1/CR1 P&P - as so far this seems like it is connected to medical expenses while a tourist.~~
  16. ~~Related threads merged. Please keep additional questions to one thread.~~
  17. The OP was asking questions and learning and he has discovered the original plan was not allowed. He has now learned about DCF and will try that route. To prevent rehashing and focusing on the fraud part of his questions I'm locking this thread. The OP is encouraged to start a new thread in the DCF forum so he can ask all DCF related questions.~~
  18. ~~Hijack posts and replies have been split and some removed. Please understand that comparing your experience from another consulate does not help members who are dealing with Montreal. It is like apples to oranges. Experiences will not be anywhere near the same.~~
  19. ~~Post from the Canada forum along with a reply split off and moved the UK forum. As this is about the London Consulate, which will be nothing like the Montreal Consulate.~~
  20. Thanks for catching this. ~~Thread moved to Tourist Visas, from Bringing Family of USC- as the OP is not looking at immigration at this time.~~
  21. Did you fill out your ROC with your maiden name and list the married name in other names used? The thing about going back to your maiden name is you can do just that. When you assume a married name you aren't really doing a name change. You are totally allowed to assume the married name or not. Getting a name change is done through the courts and those change the name on your birth certificate. Assuming a married name is just that assuming it. If you didn't change the name on your ROC forms to your maiden name, it would be easier to wait until you get an interview (if you get one) or N400, but here also don't ask for a legal name change just change your forms to your maiden name and add the previous last name to the proper spot for other names used.
  22. Are you trying to have your father immigrate to the US or get a medical tourism visa?
