Did you fill out your ROC with your maiden name and list the married name in other names used?
The thing about going back to your maiden name is you can do just that. When you assume a married name you aren't really doing a name change. You are totally allowed to assume the married name or not. Getting a name change is done through the courts and those change the name on your birth certificate. Assuming a married name is just that assuming it.
If you didn't change the name on your ROC forms to your maiden name, it would be easier to wait until you get an interview (if you get one) or N400, but here also don't ask for a legal name change just change your forms to your maiden name and add the previous last name to the proper spot for other names used.
