    Each stage you have to apply for an expedite, just because USCIS approved your expedite does not mean NVC would (in your case there was no need) or the consulate has too expedite it too. They are the ones who make that call.

    If I remember right a common law marriage will not allow you to AOS. It is not recognized for immigration purposes.

    A court house or Vegas type of wedding is perfectly fine. It just needs to be a legal marriage. As Crazy Cat mentioned above make sure you know the restrictions you will be stuck with. No work, no driving, no going home. Well you can go home you just will not be getting back in.

    Well I've been stuck with this error for the last two days. I had no VJ cookies left to delete. I use Chrome but if you look at what it logs I don't think it matters.     Get the SSN in maiden name, do not even say you're married. Do not bring the marriage certificate either. She can still get her social now but only in maiden name. Some SS personnel do not understand the K1. They think the K1 is voided if they get married. Rather than argue with them apply in madden name and when she gets her EAD she can do a name change then. THis is why we say do it before getting married. They are clueless.
