  1. If they are honest they will not be denied just over this. We have seen many come on VJ with similar circumstances. It would not be the first time and will not be the last.
  2. ~~Moved to Effects of Major Family Changes, from What Visa DO I Need.- As similar topics are discussed here.~~
  3. Happy Birthday to your mom. I'm happy she is able to keep lecturing you too
  4. How much later are you wanting your son to join? To start the K1 you just add his name, it is not until it gets to the interview stage do you fill out anything for him. If you think your ex will be co-operative you can get him to give you a letter of consent anytime after you start the K1 Process. It is taking more than a year before getting to the interview stage. If you think you will have to fight it out in court then start now.
  5. ~~Moved to What Visa Do I Need, from K1 P&P - the OP is starting to research options.~~
  6. The others covered the K1 part, I want to touch the K2 part. Your son would be the K2. Now for him to move to the US on a K2 you will need either a court order or written permission from his father.
  7. ~~Moved to Working and Traveling During Immigration, form Bringing Family of USC~~
  8. Congratulations! The doctor's and psychologist's notes are what made the difference.
  9. Just happened again. It blocks me from accessing the sites main page, but just now it was when I was switching one forum to another.

  12. You will want to pop over the the Canada forum if you haven't found it yet. https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/93-canada/ and check out the FAQ https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/734707-cr1ir1-montreal-faq/ and the ongoing thread with CR1/IR1 https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/804105-the-big-ir-1cr-1-dqd-message-group-part-v/ You are going to need more Montreal specific experience, advice and support.
  13. Yes it will be about 2yrs if you have to start all over. I'm going to be straight with you here. You are the parent. You already have the court order to allow the move he is 13 no way capable of making a choice like that. Why is he getting so much say about the move, again you are the parent. Talk to your son about all the things and new places he can see. About giving school a chance, life in the US a chance and if he gives it an honest go then you can apply for re-entry permit after he gets his GC, to allow him more time to stay in Canada. If your ex is pulling this stuff just think of what he is going to tell your son after you leave without him.
  14. ~~Hijack post and related replies split off to their own thread.~~
  15. ~~MOved to AOS Family K1/K3 P&P- from K1 P&P - the OP is at the AOS stage~~
  16. ~~MOved to Finding Work In America, from Diversity Lottery~~
  17. I don't think it is from the congressmen. They usually take a lot longer than that to inquire.
  18. ~~Multiple posts have been removed for TOS Violations, derailing and argumentative. It stops now, any further posts will result in suspension.~~
  19. It used to be something that other Canadians did often. Enter without using the visa, but this was back when they used to hand you the big brown envelope and the ones who wanted to test it left that envelope at home so they couldn't proceed if the BO wouldn't let them enter as a visitor. With everything electronic it would could trigger even if you don't use your passport. We had another Canadian member who entered as a visitor. She asked if they would allow it, the BO said sure and she went through without the stamp in her passport. Well it turned out the computer still marked her entry, lucky for her she had a spousal visa and it was just a matter of correcting her entry date. With a K1 if they mark your entry and you leave it will create a huge issue. Not a risk worth taking.
  20. I'm not a millennial but it is nothing new about online applications in the professional world. You need a Linkedin account, and depending what you are trying to get into makes a huge difference. Not all degrees are treated equally. Get your degree evaluated- here is an old thread that talks about it.
  21. ~~Post split off an Unrelated thread and moved to AOS from Work, Student and Tourist Visas- The OP is inside the US and considering AOS.~~
  22. Go to the top of this page and look for the word Guides, click it and follow the guides for removal of conditions. Your card is expired, this should have been done before the expiry date. You will need to right a letter explaining why you waited so long and hope they accept your package. Others with more knowledge will come along and help you better. It is good to start reading the guides above now though.
