My farther has adopted me
Ontarkie replied to aaron94's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
Use the one that has your adopted father on. When you get adopted they usually issue a new birth certificate. That is the one you use from that point on. -
Another Denial
Ontarkie replied to mindthegap's topic in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion
I can totally understand being done. @Old_Glory said it best. You have done so much research, so much fighting. I don't think any of us can even begin to comprehend every stone you turned every page you've read. All of what you have done over and over and over again. It is easy for all of us to say keep fighting. We're not the ones going through all of this. Only you know when enough is enough. Do what is best for you. -

I'm going to be the odd duck here and say to AOS. You are already in the US and yes working when you should not be. If this is ever found out the next time you cross kiss your ability to come back goodbye. That is until you get the spousal visa approved. Another issue is the way Montreal is handing out the DS5535 like candy. If you get caught up in with that form you can add another yr to your process. Since working without authorization is forgiven to spouses of USC get married and get the ball rolling now. How long is AOS taking these days? It's always possible he would get the 10y card if things are still going slow.

I should watch what coupons we get. I don't pay attention to them as we no longer eat out. I will watch and then mail them to you if any are good.

That is great news to read about your mom. How's your foot. We chose the invisalign for the Tornado. Much less frustration, no food restrictions and we do not need to worry about proper cleaning and pitting with regular braces. Also a lot less pain compared to braces. Price was the same for either so why not. So far she is right on track with her treatment plan. I have a friend who is doing her kids treatment in Mexico. Even with regular visits back she said it was still cheaper then in the US.

Just saw a post that approval took 1.5yrs. Ead and AP was about 6-8 months and I've seen it mentioned it is getting longer.

Yes it will be considered abandoned. You start from scratch by doing. AOS. Also for those that have changed direction please make your way to the AOS forum and not disrupt this thread further.

K1 Visa Timing and Planning
Ontarkie replied to daniel_s's topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration
As the others have mentioned that person is completely and totally wrong. If she leave the US before her AP is in hand they will consider her AOS abandoned. Plus it would not be possible to show up for biometrics without actually getting AOS filed and just to get your receipt for filling it will take longer than her Christmas break. -

K1 Visa Timing and Planning
Ontarkie replied to daniel_s's topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration
~~Moved to What Visa Do I Need, from K1 P&P - the OP is exploring options~~ From what you wrote above the CR1 (marriage visa) would be better to go with if working soon after arrival is important. Even if the K1 was approved by December. No way you can get married, adjust and get AP/EAD during winter break. That is no way enough time. -

Did he ever update them after he naturalized? If not that could be why.
