  13. The wording you used is the exact issue. You said you would be returning to Canada and making your permanent move later. Yes, the mere act of gaining PR in the US is when you endorse the visa. You cannot be a a resident in Canada while claiming to US immigration that you are a US PR the day you crossed. Your last Canadian taxes you will mark the day that visa was endorsed. That is the day they will go by for everything. I swear I'm not making this stuff up. They have nailed many ppl for this, it may take them years but they do it all the time. Anyway, I won't be derailing this thread any longer.
  14. Yes 16 years old needs one too. You may need to ask for someone else if they give you a hard time.

  17. I had a few surgeries and my daughter had an emergency appendectomy. They didn't need the records. They may know how hard it is to actually get those records in Canada and the cost to even try.
  18. ~~Moved to What Visa DO I Need, from K1 P&P - as a K1 visa is not for this purpose.~~

  21. Well they can contract you out and then you do something that way. I don't know how that part works but that was something other members have done. Oh no they will treat you as a non resident to squeeze every last cent they can out of you. Especially when you sell that house.
  22. CRA will go by the date you cross the border to endorse the visa. That is the date you will mark on your exit taxes.
  23. We used to have a member who worked on the Canadian side of the border for CBP. She had to pay taxes for Health care and still could not use it. Now if your employer has the added on Dental you pay, you can use that as it is fully paid by your employer and you, but any health care cover add ons are supplemental and you can't use them. For taxes yes you would continue to pay for 2023 and 2024 but no you can't use the medical. They do not care if you continue to work in Canada and pay into the health care. Your residence would be in the US and that is what they go by.
  24. I'm not sure, I've just seen others say the employer needs to change your tax status.
