 I had the same situation with my work authorization, 9-10 months past till I realized I filled under c31. I’ve sent a few letters asking uscis to forgive my mistake and issue me a work authorization, the fees were paid from the very beginning. They asked me for another check of 410$ and then I got my letter back, by the time I was thinking what to do my petition was approved. 

Filled May 2017, got my work authorization and 360 approved in August 2018.

does anybody know? my local office is Fort Myers, and it is showing that their processing time for I-485 is 16-24 months. Does it really take that long? Can’t believe I will have to wait 2 more years after my 360 will get approved.

just want to leave here a little bit of hope for those that are waiting.

 My 360 receipt date is May 2nd and today I got a notification that my card is being produced.

 I wish good luck to everyone, be strong, be patient!

Now, who knows what’s next and how much longer do I have to wait?

Can you guys give me an advice. I filled for vawa in March 2017, got prima fascie but never got a work authorization since by unknown reasons my case was ruled unde c3 category. I wrote a letter to uscis regarding this, and they ask for another 400$. I don’t have these money right now, and even if I file again and pay the fee I know is going to take a couple months till I get my work authorization so I decided not to pay this fee hoping that I will get some news soon regarding my I360 since I am a March Filler and they are working on February-March cases right now. 

But I am concerned, will this affect my case anyhow? What would you do in my situation?

The money you paid for the first 765 application will only be used towards that form even though it appears you chose the wrong designation c31. So if your spouse/abuser is a US citizen you are eligible to file 765(work authorization) under c9. Since you hava e pending 465 you can refile the 765 Application under c9 and include with the application a fee waiver form 912 I believe( please check), use this form to tell them you are unable to afford the fees perhaps because you don’t have a job etc. and your work authorization should be issued from  3 months of filing. Good evening everyone, hope you are doing well. I filled for vawa in May 2017, got 3 prima fascie, but never got a Work Authorization, I was worried and after I looked again at all the papers I noticed that c3 category was stated instead c9 (for witch I applied). I then sent a letter to uscis trying to find out why did they change the category, and yesterday I got a letter saying that my application or petition can’t be accepted because there wasn’t a 410$ check attached to it. And since the case is not properly filled a priority or processing date can’t be assigned. What does this mean?

What am I supposed to do? I already paid all the fees when I sent the I360, I485, I765

Will this slow down my process?

Any May fillers got any updates?
