Hello! It’s been a while since I last posted here. I’m now a U.S. citizen, and I filed an I-130 for my mother in August 2023. I gave birth to my first child in 2022 and had planned to return to work after my mom’s visa is approved. We received the I-130 approval last week, but my husband and I have decided that I will continue staying home with our child until he is 5. My son is currently 2.5 years old.
My question is, can I postpone my mother’s visa interview? Or what would be the best route to take if we are not ready for her to come to the U.S. yet? I don’t want to cancel her application because I know we’ll need her help when I go back to work, but not for another 2-3 years. Thank you for taking the time to read my post.
