  1. Does anyone know if the IO picks the civics test questions or if the system picks the question for them?
  2. Hi I am also applying from Chicago. How long did you wait from the interview to the Oath? And did you get a name change?
  3. Most people from the big cities do get interview dates within a couple of days to weeks I thought
  4. Because some places only hold a few Oath ceremonies a year once they accumulate enough people
  5. Yes, you do for the first time applying for US passport
  6. My last name is so freaking long and complicated. It’s hard to have it in the States, I’m opting to change it to my mother’s maiden name
  7. Do you remember the questions they asked for the Civics test?
  8. Hope you get the name change certificate soon! It’s kind of hard to do anything without it lol. I hope I get mine in the ceremony itself
  9. Did you file for removal of conditions also_
  10. Just having something, 1 page that shows you filed for the 5th year. I remember downloading something which was not the tax transcript, but it was also one page summary. That should be fine.
  11. Yup, the only provide 4 years. If you didn't download the last one in advance there's other things you can download other documents on there, I think there's a summary and what not. It's not the exact same but it's better than nothing.
  12. Just bring proof of the extension being granted and proof that you already paid the estimated amount you owe.
  13. Even if you don't owe taxes, usually you have to file taxes every year. You can get the tax transcript which is proof you filed at https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
  14. You said: "Oh really? Then, maybe you know better than immigration officers" which is quite rude, but I digress I suppose. Got it, I missed this part originally. Thanks for clarifying. I didn't see that in the original post.
  15. First of all, no need to be rude. Second of all, when did this happen? This is extremely rare. Most people get a tax return rather than taxes owed anyway. How would you need to show proof of payments when you had no payments to make?
  16. It’s optional and advised to upload it
  17. Tax transcripts from the IRS are proof of that, and mentioned in the original list.
  18. That had nothing to do with it tbh. You and someone else who applied on the same day from the same field office in this thread both got interviews on the same day.
  19. You just need to take the tax transcripts from the IRS website. Do you have them? That’s is sufficient.
  20. Then they just opened your file to look at it before the interview
  21. You are right, didn't think about this, but now makes a lot of sense.
