    For my interview under 5-yr rule, I am taking: 5 years worth of Tax Transcripts Residential lease Driver's license Passport Green Card Should I take anything else with me? I'm single, never married, no children. I uploaded my Mother's Cert of Naturalization to the USCIS portal, but I don't have that original with me. I know the letter says to bring originals of whatever you uploaded to the interview. Also, does anyone know if the Chicago FO allows a guest? My best friend would like to join me for moral support and wait in the waiting area obviously.

    They have the actual dates in front of them, the IO knows in your case there was no malice, and rather just human error!

    That’s not how it works. My original N400 was denied due to a USCIS mistake and error.

    This is terrible. I feel sorry for them. At the same time I would have put my foot down and said I am not getting naturalized before my PR anniversary especially because the person said they knew at the time they were not eligible.

    yeah they could do that, but there’s no question on there that’s truly hard if you know what I mean. Of course “who is the president” is easier than “who is your representative” I heard they also have to type your answer in the system which is weird to me because I’d think there was some sort of multiple choice for the IO to just select the answer you gave

    They just get to skip questions that they believe would be on the harder end. Unless the officer is telling you that they’re skipping, you would have no way of knowing they did that. I noticed as a whole that most people get the easiest questions on there and additionally a lot of people are being asked similar questions, which makes me think that the officers are skipping harder questions on purpose.

    I believe the system is the same standard for everyone and not dependent on field office.

    A program does select the questions randomly, and the IO can pick if they want to skip a question and the system will just provide another.

    It's normal, sometimes they open your file to look at it

    If I were you, I would ask to reschedule. If you ask now, it might not be that far out from July 3rd which is the original date

    I think that's the standard answer they give everyone. Maybe see if you can call USCIS and ask if the background check has been completed? AFAIK ppl on this thread have had luck with calling and speaking to someone.

    Sometimes certain FOs take a while to schedule Oaths because they need to wait until they reach a certain number of participants to schedule. Could you be in that boat possibly?

    How long did you get an interview in? 3 months? That’s perfectly normal. Implying that it might not be is giving people false information or misconstrued ideas about when they should be hearing back about their cases causes people to worry for no reason about their application.
