Hey team! I am officially an American Citizen! Just a quick piece of advice for anyone going through the process: even if you already have your ten-year Green Card, be prepared for an I751 interview. During the N-400 interview, the officer took my husband for an I751 and asked my husband and me a question we always disagree on. He kept trying to get me to give the answer my husband had given him, but I stood my ground and gave my own answer. It was a bit of a funny situation (my husband told the officer, this is the answer, but my wife will tell you this), and I was a bit upset at the time, but it went well. I passed all the civics and English tests. Finally, the officer asked me to take the oath today and become a citizen! I am so happy, relieved to have completed the process, and proud to be an American. Thank you all for being here for me throughout the almost six years it has taken to get to this point! Hugs, Cata

Hi team! Last November, I was granted approval for my 10 years green card, which I now have in my possession. However, I received a surprising letter today regarding an interview for I751, which happens to be scheduled for the same day and time as my N400 interview. I think I am the winner here (haha). I was planning to take with me my husband to the N400 Interview anyway. Now, should we prepare for a I751? I already have my permanent Green card.

Hi! I had a similar experience, but I didn't have my I-751 approved like you did. Instead of a combo interview, they approved my I-751 and reset my timeline for N400, just like they did with your N-400 today. As a result, I had to start the N400 process all over again. It is good news they looked at your file!

Thank you so much for all your help. I submitted an online request for an appointment with USCIS on Wednesday. I received a reply from them today, stating that they have already sent my green card and provided me with a tracking number for US UPS. I decided to track the number and discovered that my card was already being delivered at that moment! I feel so relieved now. Thanks for providing advice. Cata

I just received a letter from USCIS notifying me that my green card has been approved, but unfortunately, I am unable to travel outside of the US until I receive the physical card in two months. I was wondering if someone could tell me how do I get an appointment with USCIS to obtain an I-551 stamp in my passport for travel purposes. Can you please guide me on how to book an appointment with the USCIS office located in Boston? Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello! That's an excellent question. Based on my experience dealing with this issue, I suggest considering getting married in your home country and applying for a spouse visa in your home country. This option is the most fair for both partners involved. However, it is essential to analyze the situation thoroughly with your significant other. If I do this process again, I will only come to the US, already married and with a ten-year green card that allows me to work, have an ID, and drive after just landing in the USA. But of course, this is ME. Cheers, Cata

N400 - October 2022 Filers

After two years, I was finally approved for I751. However, the USCIS office in Boston declined to give me the N400 combo interview. Instead, they approved my I751 and informed me that they are still reviewing my case one year after submitting my application for N400. Grateful that I got my permanent residency, but still, there is this bittersweet feeling about how the officials in Boston and Vermont are treating us.- 207 replies

It is 10/19/2023, and nothing, nada, niente. There is no movement in the N400 or the permanent green card application: 338 days and 659 days of madness. Cata- 207 replies

Hi!. There is not movement in Boston. Many of us are still waiting. My guess is that we will see some movement in October for the N400. Cata- 207 replies
