It was July 2004, and I was traveling around the world on a Watson Fellowship, studying the impact of hip-hop in global, urban environments (I am a poet/writer). My travels took me to Ghana, England, Switzerland, Brazil and Trinidad. It was an amazing journey, especially since at the very beginning, while in Ghana, I met Nana.
It was a boring week for me. I was feeling homesick and research was at a halt. I decided to travel to Kumasi for a few days. My second day in Kumasi, I went to Fox Trap nite club, and as I was about to leave, I saw the MOST GORGEOUS MAN IN THE WORLD near the bar! It was Nana, and I couldn't stop staring. Anyhow, I decided that I was staring too much and so I got up to leave the club (I almost walked away from this man forever!) Luckily for me, as I was leaving, Nana noticed me, and approached me. We went outside to talk....and the rest as they say, IS HISTORY.
Since then, I have been traveling back and forth to Ghana for the past 3 years. It's great that I am a teacher because I get a lot of vacation time :-) I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL HE IS HERE....IT'S GOING TO MAKE MY LIFE COMPLETE-FINALLY!!!
