JudyWilde replied to JudyWilde's topic in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion
Thank you for your kind words! I never would have done it without this site's help. Thanks to much WISE advice from VJ, I did not hire any private law firm attorney for my I-751&N-400, saving a ton of $$$$$. Special thanks to @Crazy Cat (yourself) & @OldUser. -

I arrived by myself. The officer spent nearly an hour reviewing my submitted material while I was in his office. He did not greet me and had scowls on his face the whole time. Questions asked for I-751: When did you get married? When did you get divorced? Why did you get divorced? Did he meet your parents? Did you meet his parents? Did you get a chance to study for your citizenship questions? Questions asked for N-400: U.S. History & Government: 1. What is the economic system of the United States? Capitalism 2. Who makes federal laws? Congress 3. What prevents any government branch from becoming too powerful? Checks and balances 4. What is one right that only U.S. citizens have? To run for federal offices 5. Name two U.S. holidays. Presidents' Day; Memorial Day. English: 1. Read this sentence: Where is the White House 2. Write this sentence: The White House is in Washington D.C. Lastly: Routine questions are asked such as are you willing to take the full oath of allegiance. I was given N-652 and the officer pointed to this sentence: "Congratulations! Your application has been recommended for approval. At this time, it appears that you have established your eligibility for naturalization. If final approval is granted, you will be notified of when and where to report for your naturalization ceremony." The officer then escorted me out of his office. I later ran into him in a plaza while waiting for my bus to go home. Case Status changed to: May 8, 2024 Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled We placed you in line for your oath ceremony and will send you a notice, with the date, time, and location of your oath ceremony. You should receive your notice within 30 days of its mailing date. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

I-751 Approved in 7 Weeks
JudyWilde replied to From_CAN_2_US's topic in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion
I did apply for citizenship. My interview will be on May 8, 2024. However, it still seems to be slower than other petitioners. I submitted my citizenship petition on 10/5/23. Most would have already had their citizenship certificate in hands by now. -

Thank you so much for sharing! Was your I-751 approved without an interview? I have been waiting for my I-751 for 40 months. God knows what the F is going on with my local USCIS office. -

I did petition my I-751 on divorce waiver, along with abuse and hardship if returned to my home country. Seems the U.S.C.I.S. is so far satisfied with my paperwork after I sent in TWICE dictionary-thick documents. The status has been changed from RFE to “ready to be scheduled for an interview” since December 2021. What could be going on???

I left on January 3, 2019. I came back on June 9, 2019. Let me reiterate - I nearly died from emotional and psychical injuries sustained by my ex-spouse abuse. I was hospitalized on and off for that long between January 3, 2019 and June 9, 2019. My medical expense was nearly $20,000, which I have still not been compensated yet. 135 days in a living hell. I wasn’t going on a vacation. “A lengthy trip” sounds like I was having fun on that lengthy trip. I am sorry I come off as so negative. I understand you mean well and are trying to help me. Any U.S.C.I.S. officer who assumes I was having fun or on a vacation when I was out of the country between 1/3/19 and 6/9/19 would be heartless and senseless. But I’m not actually concerned about my I-751 pending for so long after I read you guys’ replies. I guess what I need is just an I-751 support group haha.

I’d file N400 under the 5-year rule and I’ll become eligible in September this year. Resident since 12/19/18. International trip: I had to go back to China from Jan 2019 to June 2019 to get medical treatment (not having U.S. medical insurance at the moment and could not afford our-of-pocket treatment in the U.S.) for my injuries sustained due to my ex-spouse abuse. I nearly died. I don’t wish to get into any detail and I hope my wish can be respected. I have been residing in the U.S. since June 2019. Never left.

Hi all, The U.S.C.I.S. received my I-751 on December 16, 2020. In November 2021, my case was transferred to Lee’s Summit, MO to “speed things up.” It is July 23, 2023. I’m still waiting for an interview to be scheduled. LOL. I feel I am never going to get an interview date and my status will be in limbo forever.
