CWiggin got a reaction from HARPSINGH in I-551 Green Card Not Received Over 120Days
Unfortunately they will tell you to wait until 120 days are up as that's also what the instructions say.  For what it's worth I had tried earlier as well with basic "Inbox" inquiries and got the same reply to wait until 120 days.

    Update:
All 3 inquiry's that were sent have now been replied back by USCIS.  1st one (filed by USCIS though Inbox inquiry) which I mentioned earlier said my docs had not arrived yet.  2nd one (Filed by my Attorney) looks to have been entered incorrectly by the agent as the reply stated they couldn't find me in the system and also had my name wrong along with the immigration date which was off by a couple years.  3rd reply (Filed by myself through phone inquiry) stated "Further research is needed in regards to your inquiry.  You should receive correspondence within the next 90 days regarding this case.  If you do not receive this correspondence, please contact customer service."

3 attempts to resolve the issue through normal means failed in this case.

I am still awaiting resolution through the Ombudsman with no update on that yet.

Update, Been 188 days and no Permanent Resident Card; it appears the USCIS is not aware of Electronic Visa Packet Information

    - Sent/Received 8 messages through "Inbox" on my.uscis.gov over duration of past 60days; most replies have been generic and unhelpful providing no resolution.
    - Scheduled InfoPass appointment at day 121; received no accurate information however was told to get new set of fingerprinting done and return.  Returned and received extension on IV with new stamp since visa is now expired.
    - Sent/Received reply from "Green Card Not Received" and was advised that my Visa Packet from POE was not received.  (Visa Packet is contained in the CCD and is electronic...so this is not possible)
    - 3 referral ID's generated for Texas Service Center to resolve issues; received 1 reply so far.
    - Phone call to USCIS and representative did not know of any electronic packet information; did not know what I was referring to and even mentioned it clearly states on my IV that the IV packet info is on the CCD.  Phone call advised to schedule an infopass appointment.  No infopass appointments in my area available anymore as they're not accepting walk-ins.  No venue to explore further options.

I've explored all options available to me at this time to no avail and my attorney is proceeding to the last measure of contacting the Ombudsman.

In other news however after waiting 90days I received my RealID Drivers License...so now at least I can open Transferwise (currency conversion) accounts and other specific and unique accounts that have been unavailable without acceptable ID.

The Officer this time was much more helpful and upon my visit was not aware of the "CCD" Consular Consodiated Database containing my Visa Packet.  He inquired with the other Officers and manager and they also were not aware however they looked into it on another set of computers located on a different floor and upon his return he had found all my documents.  Upon leaving he was attempting to contact the Texas Service Center to let them know about the issue with my case and was preparing a package of documents to send to them so they could find my applicable information in the CCD since they are not aware of the new process for the Electronic CCD Visa Packets.

This was a couple weeks ago and I have no information since.  If it's not resolved through this method then I'm expecting my case to come up in the Ombudsman queue soon.

Well I'm at 308 days or 10months now.  🤣  Nothing new to report except I see a whole bunch of claimed asylum seekers entering the country in a quicker and cheaper fashion.  Perhaps we did it the wrong way...

EDIT:  Just checked my USCIS page and I spoke too soon!

I sure hope not, because 309 days since entering the country should be completely unacceptable and considered a failure on their part. We are sitting at about 160 days right now and feel that we should've had the green card by now so it's understandable that you would be frustrated about it. Hopefully one day the TSC will wake up and figure out how to use the "Docs in CCD".  Best of luck to you and fingers crossed for everyone here who hasn't received their green card yet

I had a very similar situation to you. I am also from Canada, filing jointly for the first time with my wife, with an income greater than the foreign income exclusion maximum for 2018.

I don't know if you have ever visited this site, I found it very helpful throughout this process. They are also connected to an accounting service, but I ended up going with an accountant that was highly recommended buy my wife's colleague. I liked him, but I won't recommend him to you because he doesn't have a whole lot of experience dealing with foreign taxes. I think he had to do a lot of research on his own.

After a long discussion with my accountant and through some research, for example, on taxact.com, my understanding is that you can still use the foreign income exclusion (Form 2555) to exclude up to $104,100 (for some reason, we did $103,900, not sure why?), and then use your foreign tax credits (only federal taxes, not provincial) on form 1116 to avoid dual taxation.

I still reside in Canada so am not a resident of California. My accountant tells me that I don't have to pay Californian state taxes as I did not reside there in 2018. I asked him what would happen in the future when I moved to California but do some locum work in Canada where I would have to pay provincial taxes and he told me that I cannot use provincial taxes to exclude state taxes. Again, I am not 100% sure this is accurate. I was going to do more research when I cross that bridge.

I ended up filing jointly (I needed the ITIN in order to get a head start to apply for a California medical license which takes 8-12 months), but because there was such a huge disparity between my salary and my wife's (I think I was 4 times her), we ended up getting less tax refund for my wife had she she filed separately, however, as mentioned I had other reasons to file jointly.

Completely understandable.  A little story:  When Mrs. T-B. got her advance parole (on paper, years ago), I took her across a land port (Texas/Mexico).  The CBP agents knew what AP was but had never processed one.  They were racing around, often consulting one another, and at times it was almost comical.  When they were completing the process, I asked one if their computer showed whether Mrs. T-B.'s green card had been produced; he said that their computer didn't tell them such things.  Little did we know that her green card was in the mail to her at that moment.  I still have her once-used AP paper somewhere and may finally frame it, if it surfaces again.

Our situation being intensified by our proximity to the southern U.S. border, I will say that it gave us far more confidence to have her carry her green card everywhere (as is the law) in comparison with lesser documentation.  Here's a thread that might interest you and others:

I'm a CR-1 and had my Temporary I-551 Visa since my Immigration on June 16, 2018 (Payment sent on June 14, 2018) and it's now been over 120 days and I still haven't received my actual Resident Card in the mail.

I've been monitoring  https://my.uscis.gov/account/ for changes and still shows "In Process"

I've inquired online and went to my local USCIS office via INFOPass appointment today and both were of no help.

How long is everyone waiting for their actual card to arrive after immigrating?  Does anyone have any pro tips on expediting the card?

My primary reason for wanting to get the actual card is the temporary I-551 isn't being recognized as a form of ID at a specific bank that I'd like to open an account with and it also has been a struggle getting a drivers license at the California DMV believe it or not but that is processing at least.  ProTip for immigrants the RealID Drivers License process can take up to 90days.  I haven't attempted to get a job yet in the USA ( I work out of country still) but I can only imagine the temporary stamped/visa I-551 is a weaker form of ID in that process too.
