  1. She is pregnant now and not looking for a job. So she is not desperate to get her green card. It’s only the incident that happened and her name on police report that makes her worried. That’s all. Thanks for your input
  2. Makes sense. Thank for your input
  3. Yea it says 23 months, I see it now. Hopefully she will hear something soon. She wouldn’t be worried if this incident didn’t happen. That’s why I wanted to check if anyone ever requested FOIA and how does that look like, what does FOIA reveal, and is it helpful at all so she can get a peace of mind.
  4. Chicago field office. When the cops arrived to the incident, they wrote a report. Now her name is on it and she is worried if that is going cause any problems. So I am not sure if FOIA request can be helpful to show if there is something that she needs know about.
  5. It’s been 1.5 year since she submitted I-485. She had a situation with her husband’s ex girlfriend 8 months ago. The cops were involved. No one got arrested.
  6. Oh sorry, I didn’t notice that. Thanks for moving it.
  7. What forum could she go to ask this question? Would you happen to know?
  8. She came on tourist visa and got married 5 months later. So she filled I-485 through marriage.
  9. Hi everyone, I am writing on behalf of my friend whose I-485 is pending for while now. She wants to apply for FOIA to see if there is anything that is causing this delay. Do you guys think that FOIA would be any helpful? Thanks
  10. I also kinda got confused with that, like what does the passport appointment have to do with anything! Thanks for your response
  11. It makes sense. I got worried for no reason. It makes sense. I got worried for no reason.
  12. Agree. Have your I-751 resolved first just to be on the safe side by raising any red flags on your case. Good luck
  13. Thank you so much!!! 😊
  14. I scheduled my passport appointment with the post office a few days after my upcoming oath ceremony. Immediately got criticized by a coworker and was told that I should never do that because I am not a citizen yet and that I had to wait after oath ceremony. Honestly, I don’t see an issue just scheduling an appointment, I didn’t claim anywhere that I am a citizen yet. I don’t know now if I should cancel my passport appointment ?
  15. Hi everyone, I would like to express my appreciation for everyone that advised me through my immigration journey. Here is my immigration history; I came to the US on fiancé visa in July 2018. Got my conditional green card in September 2019. Applied for unconditional green card in June 2021, in the meantime got divorced and notified USCIS about it. In February 2023, USCIS sent me a RFE, I was already divorced and didn’t have a lot of additional evidences to provide. I collected a bunch of affidavits from ex husband’s family and our mutual friends. The RFE response was submitted and ever since USCIS received my response, I haven’t heard back from them since April 2023. I became eligible for citizenship in June 2024 but waited for USCIS to resolve my I-751 but no luck. I submitted an inquiry on my case in July 2024, and nothing. So I ended up applying for the citizenship in September 2024. Got an update for scheduled interview in December 2024. I had my combo interview on Monday. I had an attorney with me because my I-751 wasn’t resolved. My attorney advised me to bring all evidences that I had since I started dating my ex husband back in 2015. I printed 188 pages of our texts from 2016-2018. I found passport stamps from our trips while we were dating. All the pictures from dating period as well. I had chains of emails with my ex while we were married from 2020. I was able to get an emergency form with my ex husband’s name on it from the previous employer while I was married. My ex husband and I tried to get back together more than once after divorce, my attorney told me to bring an evidence on that as well. So I printed pictures from that period, we went to several events together like his brother’s wedding and his nephew’s birthday. The officer was satisfied with all the evidences that I brought and said that my evidences are sufficient. I explained my whole marriage/divorce situation and was honest about it. Today my I-751 case status updated to “Case was approved” and my N400 to “Oath ceremony notice was mailed”. This was an emotional and extremely stressful roller coaster and I can’t explain how relieved I am today. I wish that for everyone. My advice to everyone that is going through this: Be honest and there is nothing to worry about. Don’t be worried telling the truth no matter what the truth is. Every human being is going to appreciate your honesty. Good luck everyone! 🍀
  16. Here is another update: I-751 “Case was approved “ !!!
  17. Thank you!!! That is actually a good idea. I will definitely do that. Thank you
  18. Thank you. I will try not too
  19. Right. Even my I-751 interview went really well. The officer was satisfied with my answers and said that my evidences are sufficient.
  20. Yes. They scheduled my oath in 20 days.
  21. Today’s update: “Oat Ceremony Notice was mailed”. My I-751 status still says “ Appeal/Motion was dismissed”.
  22. Yea I did. Hopefully it will work out for me too. Thx
  23. I checked this website and it says “no case found”. Is that a good thing?
  24. Hi everyone, Today I had my combo interview I-751 divorce waiver and N400. Anyway , in the meantime the status changed and for N400 the online status says “Oat ceremony will be scheduled” but when I checked I-751 status it says “Appeal/Motion was dismissed” your case remains denied. First I never filled for motion. My I-751 took so long to so that’s why I ended up applying for citizenship. Also my I-751 went well, the officer seemed satisfied with my answers and additional documentation that I provided. I am so confused 😕 Did anyone else had this situation? Thanks
  25. Same thing just happened to me today..
