  1. I don't have enough experience with this process to say if your submitted evidence is "too much" but there are a couple of things that I would include that you do not and some that I would not .. I was extremely ####### with my submission as well. They are as follows ..

description, location, names, and dates on the back of 3 or 4 photos with your fiancee in the US and the same on the back of 3 or 4 photos with your fiancee in england. Photo's with each others family and others that support your receipts and confirmations would be beneficial in my opinion.

also from what I have read you need to make sure that the birth certificate you send is the correct one on file with the government, not the one from hospital .. probably the one you have already, but I thought I'd mention it

the emails that I would include would be the oldest one, the newest one, those planning trips together, and those discussing marriage. (you could even highlight relevant information to support intentions in my opinion)

If I was you I would send copies of birthday and christmas cards and the envelopes (showing return address and postage stamps) as the originals will be needed at your interview.

if the movie stubs don't have your name on them, they won't help unless you have photos with the date on them of both of you in front of the movie theater

also, unless you have the original receipt for the phone cards and records of who you called with them that will be of no use in my opinion.

I don't know that it is necessary, but I had my letter of intent notarized.

and lastly I don't believe that copies of your ID, credit cards and debit cards will support your case so I wouldn't include them .. but that is just me ..

Good luck and speedy approval ..

  2. Hello all,

I contacted USCIS last week on Jan. 12, 2007 to see if I could get information about the status of my petition for fiancee as it was received in Nebraska on Dec. 27, 2006.

The individual that I spoke with asked me several questions to verify that I was the person filing the petition and then she told me that the CSC was handling the case and that the NOA1 had been sent out by mail on Jan. 8, 2007, she also gave me the receipt number.

I entered the receipt number into the uscis website so that I could track the progress of my petition and sure enough the case was there, but the "Last Updated" date was Jan. 12 (maybe because the person mentioned above looked up the information that she gave me on Jan. 12)

Anyway, I haven't received the NOA1 in the mail as of yet, and today is Jan. 19, 2007. 11 days after the date that the USCIS said the item was mailed certainly seems like more than enough time for the document to get here.

God knows that I would much rather have the letter coming to me get lost in the mail than packet going to the NVC but ...

Do I need to have the NOA1 for future reference?

If it doesn't show up, will it be a problem?

  3. I have received several emails about a couple of statements I have made in this forum and about the documents that I included with my I-129F that is located HERE. This is the only forum that I read regularly and I am afraid that if I post it in the "Off Topic" forum that it will not be viewed by those who really need this information, thus I am posting it here.

For those individuals searching for a record of "VOICE CHATS" on Yahoo! Messenger, I know of no such record. In my list of supporting documents I was actually referencing the features offered by Yahoo! Voice known as "Phone In" and "Phone Out" which I will now describe.

For those considering these options, I would highly recommend that the fiancee have a personal computer in their home and broadband internet access.

Phone In costs $2.99 per month and as long as the US citizen doesn't go over his/her cell phone minutes it is free for them to call the overseas fiancee on his/her computer for hours on end every month. With this option a domestic / US phone number is assigned to ring to the Yahoo! Messenger of the overseas fiancee.

Phone Out costs me $.01 per minute from the Philippines. With this option money has to be loaded into the overseas fiancee's account at http://voice.yahoo.com which enables the overseas fiancee to call a US cell phone or land line telephone for the rate per minute published on the Yahoo! Voice website. (if you pay for the phone in service as well the call is from a US phone number, which in my case is why it only costs $.01 per minute)

Both of these options are pay features which are explained in detail at http://voice.yahoo.com. Simply sign up for the service with the foreign fiancee's Yahoo! account that is associated with the Yahoo! Messenger that he/she uses for chatting and within 2 days you will be chatting for hours on end for literally pennies on the dollar. My fiancee and I spend tons of time together on the phone, (my breaktime and lunchtime at work, and even traveling down the road when I am doing whatever takes me away from her and the computer) and now we have all of the money that we used to spend on phone bills to do with as we wish.

BTW .. SMS / Text Messages from Yahoo! Messenger to cell phones are free to send anywhere in the world but please remember that the person receiving the text messages from Yahoo! Messenger MUST reply to messages on a regular basis or the option will no longer work for some reason. Receiving and replying to a SMS / Text Message sent from Yahoo! Messenger to a Cingular cell phone are charged as a domestic / US phone number so if you have a plan which includes text messages there is no additional charge as long as you don't go over the number of text messages that are included.

If anyone knows of a forum or website, or just has any ideas related to saving money, please reply to this topic with that information.

  4. If he has a girlfriend, have them get married .. it worked for my ex wife.

Seriously, it kept him from being deported .. they were married for some time, he filed for change of status, got his citizenship, voila ... (I'm unsure of this entire process or timeline)

BTW, his was student visa from UAE .. but his visa was due to expire very soon at the time of the marriage.

Just an idea for an obviously stressful, seemingly hopeless situation.

  5. Hello again,

I have a question concerning the payment of USCIS fees by postal money order.

I made payment for my petition for Fiancee Visa I-129F USCIS Fee by sending a USPS money order to the Nebraska Service Center last week using overnight shipping.

As the week progressed I was reading the timelines and several FAQ's and it came to my attention that in order to logon to the USCIS website and track the progress of my case that I needed the the case number. In one of the posts someone pointed out that the case number would be written on the back of the cashed Fee check, this brought me to the following questions ..

    1) Does anyone know of a link where I can confirm the cashing/depositing of the money order?

    2) Is there any way that I can see the case number from the back of the money order to enter it into my logon at the USCIS website so that I may track the progress of my case?

    3) Would the advice of those with extensive knowledge on the subject be that others paying the fees do so using a personal check so that this information is readily available.

    4) If paying by personal check, does a hold period apply for the check to clear the bank?

    5) Other than from the back of the cashed check and directly from the applicant's NOA1, are there any other methods of receiving the case number from the USCIS?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Donnie Roach

  6. My I-129F package was recieved by "INS Express" on Wednesday and I was wondering some things.

    1) if additional information is requested from me, will Nebraska, NVC, or either/both request it? After which NOA is it safe to send original documents to my fiancee?

    2) which orginal documents should I send to my fiancee .. HERE is a link to the list of documents that I sent to NSC.

    Thank You,

    Donnie Roach

  7. thanks think we are going to check into this the 200. phone bills got to stop

Thank me by telling your neighbors, friends, and contacts about this. It is a great thing and has saved me many hundreds of dollars that I can set aside for our life together since we have found out about it.

GOD knows that the relationships that each of us have chosen to enter will be challenging enough financially, any help that I can offer .. I will gladly do so.

If you need further assistance with this (or if you have any money saving ideas that you may have for me; example .. plane tickets .. hehe) add me on yahoo messenger username countryboydonnie

  8. OK go over this again Sorry need more coffee i guess. We both use Yahoo every time we talk, I have cell goes thru internationl at Cingular that i call on to his cell, for now he doesnt call out on his tho. We were just playing around and hit the phone call on messenger, i could hear him but he couldnt hear me (well) and we didnt know if there was a charge for what we had just done. I was going to check into it.

Using the first option he can call you from his cell phone anytime you are on the computer for free .. with broadband it is even better than direct phone calls in my experience.

login to http://www.yahoo.com, the account that you use for yahoo messenger (where you check your mail) goto http://www.voice.yahoo.com read the "phone in" link (right side of page in blue letters), sign up for this service (it takes about 2 days to verify your credit card - charge is $2.99 per month)

Using this second option you can call him from your computer to his cell phone anytime you like for $.01 per minute (the website says $.10 per minute, but if you watch your counter it is actually $.01 per minute if you are signed up for the phone in service)

login to http://www.yahoo.com, the account that you use for yahoo messenger (where you check your mail) goto http://www.voice.yahoo.com click the "phone out" link (right side of page in blue letters), sign up for this service, add $5 or $10 to your account by credit card

    START CALLING EACH OTHER

  9. Hello,

Ok I have a concern that I'm sorta confused about...My fiance was granted her visa recently!!!! Finally...BUT..We are BROKE! buying plane tickets and paying phone bills have put us into the negitive..So when my fiance comes I'm hoping she can find work to help me pay some of the debt. She has aaquired a BS in nutrition from the university in her country. IM curious how she can go about transfering her international university education to US's so that she can work in her field of work. Will she be required to go back to school here in the US?

    Thanks

Just a note how to save some money, my fiancee and I have been doing this for a while and it is simply amazing that it is possible. I decided to post this because you specifically mentioned phone bills.

    1) your fiancee must have a computer and be connected to the internet (broadband is best)

    2) your fiancee has to sign up for yahoo messenger and you have to pay voice.yahoo.com $2.99 a month for their "phone in" service

    3) you must have a cell phone with minutes available to use.

With this option she will be assigned a phone number from the U.S., you simply call that phone number while she is connected to yahoo messenger with voice (she must have a headset) and voila .. FREE PHONE CALLS .. her at her computer, you wherever your cell phone is. As long as you don't go over the minutes included in your cell phone plan, there are no charges. You also have the option of paying for yahoo's "phone out" service and she can call you on any phone in the US for $.01 per minute.

I call my fiancee as much as I like and she calls me as much as she likes, what a bargain.

Hope this helps you with your money situation. Congrats on your approval of K-1, I hope you can be together soon.

  10. Yes, she is the daughter of my fiancee but the father remains UNKNOWN to either my fiancee or her illegitimate child as is stated on the birth certificate, affidavit of illegitimate, and statement of illegitimate.

    Don,

If I was in your situation I would probably get a lawyer in the Philippines to make sure this isn't not going to be a show-stopper at interview time. But then again I'm just like that.

    Gary

    Gary,

I have had one too many experiences with the lawyers in the Manila area pertaining to other issues, the ones that came highly recommended before on these separate issues are worthless .. I have been told by people that I trust that the only lawyers in the Philippines worth their weight are female because they have to work so hard to get to where they are.

IF ANYONE HAS DIRECT KNOWLEDGE / PERSONAL EXPERIENCE ABOUT THIS SUBJECT

    OR

IF ANYONE CAN RECOMMEND A GOOD LAWYER IN MANILA OR MAKATI PLEASE LET ME KNOW

We had no issues getting any of the other paperwork for my fiancee's daughter to include the passport and other paperwork that I have listed on my website.

Is the decision for this issue made by the Philippine Government or U.S. Government? The reason I ask is that I have some fairly well connected friends in both countries with whom I have the option of calling in a favor, but I hate to use all of my options if I don't have to.

Thanks for your concern and advise.

Is the daughter the child of your fiance? Be advised that you may need the permission of the child's father to take the child out of the country, even if the parents were not married at the time of the child's birth. There may be some pending changes in family law WRT this.

Yes, she is the daughter of my fiancee but the father remains UNKNOWN to either my fiancee or her illegitimate child as is stated on the birth certificate, affidavit of illegitimate, and statement of illegitimate.

  12. Thank you so much for your reply, what exactly is the "Consulate Stage"?

Again, it would serve you well to read the guides here

Bill, thank you for pointing out the guides.

I have included everything that I have listed. In the tips page (I think that is correct) it stated that I should attach the passport style pics to the G-325A forms (I actually included my fiancee's daughters pictures with hers) and that some of the documents that I included should be original as opposed to copies so I changed them out.

As far as the current information issue goes, I don't mind getting additional statements from my employer, bank, tax returns, police clearances, etc. before the interview date. I actually have a government job and I know that it is better to have too much information than not to have enough.

Again, thank you so much for your assistance .. any further advise from you or anyone will be greatly appreciated.

  13. Thank you so much for your reply, what exactly is the "Consulate Stage"?

My fiancee has been reading posts here for some time but this is our first post.

I believe that thru our investigating that we have completed all required documents and supporting evidence and we are planning on mailing them to the Nebraska Center tomorrow. If anyone is willing to look my list over and make any suggestions it will surely be of help to us both.

If there is anything else I should include, or a document is listed as a copy but it should be an original, or if anything isn't listed as notarized and it should be .. please let me know.

Your submission is more exhaustive than I believe is required at this stage. Not saying it is wrong, but many of these documents may need to be re-presented at the consulate stage...... Any document not in English needs to be accompanied by a translation.

I would only include originals of the I-129F, G-325a's and statements of intent. If submitting originals of any other documents with the petition I would replace with copies and save the originals for the consulate.

    YMMV
