  1. OP,

Thanks for sharing your experience with us.

I am of the opinion that if you make a marriage last because there is a true/solid loved shared between you, then you are doing the honorable thing.

    But ..

If you believe someone that truly loves you would do what your wife is doing to you, then your love is a blind / one sided love.

    That being said ..

According to your account of the situation, you did enter into the marriage in good faith. Although your wife systematically alienated all of your friends in the U.K. you believed that your marriage would last thus you believe that you entered the U.S. with good faith on your K-Visa.

I won't tell you what is the right thing, or the smart thing to do, but you need to be happy with your life. If you are truly honest to yourself in this situation you need to consider what you are asking in the original post.

Is staying in the marriage because you want to adjust status fair to either you or your wife? If you stay just long enough to adjust status, is it legal as far as Immigration laws go?

You obviosly aren't happy with your life now. Would you be happy back with your friends in the U.K.?

And finally, why is it so important that you stay in a go-nowhere relationship with a person that keeps you beat to the ground just to receive a conditional 2 year card when you have so many more legs of your journey to complete and you could go home and be happy tomorrow?

  3. I originally posted this in the Green Card discussion forum but a friend of mine, eau xplain, suggested that I post it here as well.

Just wondering if there is a trend pertaining to filing multiple I-485 forms and if it directly affects who gets transferred to the CSC?

My wife, the primary beneficiary filed for her AOS on July 27, 2007 and at the same time we filed for our daughter Ashley's AOS as well.

Can the VJ members with dependants that filed their AOS applications recently (multiple I-485's .. spouse and child/children) please post to let me know if they were or were not transferred to the CSC? I know many things probably determine whether a case is transferred or not .. income, co-sponsorship, etc. but I am just trying to get a feel if this is a factor as well.

    Thanks,

    CB

  4. I see so many cases being transferred to the California Service Center for processing of their AOS application.

  5. No, not at all! I was hoping a few people who said maybe might be back to say for sure. I also sent out about 11 messages to other people, and haven't heard from everyone yet. It's still a "go", even if it's just me and my husband, and the couple of people here that said for sure. I know you're waiting on the venue. The few places I had originally looked at and spoke to somoeone else about weren't really family restaurants. Nothing is set in stone however as to where we're going to be. Again, a lot will depend on how many people are coming. If I know less than 10, that certainly opens it up more as to where we can go. But if say 30 or more were coming, then we'd either have to get a private room, or a place big enough to accomodate a large group.

Mylene wants to come and we can leave the kids at home (she okayed that last night) so plan on us being there.

  6. Let me know your plans on the location, Together Mylene and I have 4 kids and she thinks that they should go with us .. hmmmm .. I told her that we should consider the restaurant/setting and then determine how appropriate it would be .. once you have decided on a location I will RSVP or not .. that day/afternoon/night is open on our calendars .. hope we can make it work out

  7. Mylene and Ashley had their biometrics appointment on Friday, September 28, 2007 and their cases finally showed up online at the uscis website today. (after checking over and over everyday this is a big deal to me .. lol)

My girls still haven't received a letter with a date for an AOS Interview yet; maybe with a little luck they'll be transferred to CSC and the AOS will be approved without an interview (fingers crossed !!!! wishful thinking ???)

  8. Charlie,

All is great in Illinois, hope the same can be said with you and yours.

We used the A # from the NOA-2 since it was originally issued by the USCIS and is associated with all other correspondence thru the government stateside (NVC, transfer to embassy, etc.). The one printed on the Visa is only there and on the I-94 (which was transferred directly from the visa).

I'm sure the Embassy wouldn't want to admit their mistake; just like I'm sure we aren't the only ones to experience a typo on the visa. If you really want an accurate answer I would definately refer you to the customer service number at the USCIS. I know it is a real pain getting to talk to a human being, but I always just choose the option to change our address then when someone comes online I tell them the real reason for my call and I am usually transferred from the "call center" to a case worker.

Good luck with everything, Charlie, and take care.
