  1. I think that last comment is beneath you. I think I’ve treated you with respect. I appreciate what you do on this forum and the advice you give. I disagree strongly with who you support politically. I hope you’ll continue to read widely and consider other view points. You all have a good day.
  2. The quote is from Gary Cohn. He is referencing Trump’s comment about “very fine people on both sides.” He is criticizing that response. “Citizens standing up for equality and freedom can never be equated with white supremacists, neo-Nazis, and the KKK. I believe this administration can and must do better in consistently and unequivocally condemning these groups and do everything we can to heal the deep divisions that exist in our communities.”
  3. How much of the interview did you watch? Biden immediately corrects himself. The full quote, “If Trump wins, no I’m not confident, I mean if Trump loses, I’m not confident…” Are you serious?!
  4. Sorry, I should have provided more context. My point was that people within Trumps own administration were unhappy with his description of Charlottesville as having “very fine people on both sides.” This is Gary Cohn on Trump’s comment. Im not sure it’s worth discussing further with you if you can’t agree that what Trump said was reprehensible. “Actions vs. words” is a craven dodge. Sorry, I should have provided more context. 6. Trump called it a Muslim ban. They were forced to rebrand because it is unconstitutional. With child separation your solution is causing more harm than the problems you cite. “Btw, you are only arguing character when you say you would vote for anyone other than Trump, just because he is Trump.” I’m not sure I’m following you here, but yes, I think that Trump is uniquely unfit for the presidency.
  7. How would you have liked to see the process with the democratic nominee play out?
  8. Again, look what people in his own administration said about it. You live in a fantasy land. https://www.populardemocracy.org/news-and-publications/gary-cohn-publicly-criticizes-trumps-charlottesville-response-and-reportedly
  9. I’ve been arguing positions and character, however, would argue that having policy positions I disagree with should not disqualify him from office. That’s normal politics. I don’t agree with his tax policies, but that’s not a risk to our values as a country. There are some policies that are, like the Muslim ban and child separations at the border.
  10. Would you march with people carrying Nazi flags? Should we have monuments of people who fought against our country and supported slavery.
  11. I understand that you feel that way about her, but I think you would have a hard time coming up with things she has said or done that would put her anywhere in the same category as Trump. I guess you could try and convince me by providing examples, but I don’t think you’d be successful.
  12. You will have a chance to submit more documents at the NVC stage and bring others to the interview. You’re from a low fraud country and you have spent ages together in person, so I think your unlikely to get much scrutiny. Yeah, I don’t know your circumstances re: DCF. The most common reason I’ve seen them excepted is for job offers with rapidly approaching start dates. I just thought if it was something that might apply to you, you should be aware of it. Best of luck on your journey. Based on what I’ve seen so far you’re going to be in good shape.
  13. It’s not that he is not perfect, it is that he is actively and unapologetically a terrible human.
  14. You have blinders on. I’m giving you information from republicans and people from his own administration. Others are instances of things that have come out of his own mouth. Just ask yourself, if this came out of Biden or Harris’s mouth, would I be concerned: “Antifa, stand back and stand by.” ”I’ll only be a dictator on day one.” “They let you do it. You can do anything. Grab ’em by the #####.” "He's not a war hero. He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren't captured." This is a small sampling of things he has said… I think that you have a valid point about who knew what when in regards to Biden’s apparent struggles. I think it would also make sense to but him through a battery of cognitive tests to assess where he falls on the continuum of “he had a bad night - clear decline - completely incompetent.”
  15. Is your mother still in the US now? If so, you can try to adjust her status again. Once she leaves, she can’t come back on a tourist visa with the intent to adjust status.
  16. Mitch McConnell on January 6th - “there is no question that President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of that day” If you are being honest with yourself, I don’t know how you can believe this man is fit to lead our country. When will you get to the point, when to quote Lindsey Graham, “enough is enough?” I won’t quote Chris Christie, Liz Chaney, Adam Kinzinger, Mitt Romney to you because these people don’t count as republicans to you anymore. Take a look at this list though: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Republicans_who_oppose_the_Donald_Trump_2024_presidential_campaign You’re on the wrong side of history.
  17. https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2022/07/20/politics/what-we-learned-trump-187-minutes https://www.congress.gov/118/meeting/house/116973/documents/HHRG-118-ED00-20240417-SD006.pdf https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Executive_Order_13769 https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/trump-sides-with-putin-over-u-s-intelligence-in-remarkable-helsinki-press-conference/ https://www.reuters.com/world/us/trump-repeats-poisoning-blood-anti-immigrant-remark-2023-12-16/ https://www.eia.gov/todayinenergy/detail.php?id=61545 Just for your perusal…maybe to help with your research.
  18. I wouldn’t know, I’ve never watched either. I’d be shock if either of them held a candle to Trump.
  19. I’m confused. None of these things happened? You’re digging your head in the sand if you believe that.
  20. I think we have already been through this, but I think that just Trump’s conduct on January 6th should be disqualifying. I thought his reaction to Charolettesville was inappropriate. Thought the attempted Muslim ban was completely counter to the values of our country. I thought his coddling and bromance with Putin was troubling. I think his reference to “ hole” countries was offense. I thought him referring to immigrants as “poisoning the blood” of our country was concerning, because either he had no idea he was quoting Hitler or even more concerning he was doing that intentionally, either way, it’s racist. I thought the economy under Trump was pretty good…until Covid. Covid was obviously not his fault, but he ended up politicizing masks and vaccines, which I think was terrible. I thought his tax cuts were a hand out to the wealthy and unnecessary. Inflation is a byproduct of Covid. I think that Biden prioritized employment over inflation and I think that was the right call. Running the economy hot kept people employed and spread the pain among everyone. More unemployment would have lead to a recession and I think more economic pain than we experienced. More oil is being produced now in the US than any other time in history. There was a bipartisan deal on immigration that was negotiated by Lankford that Trump decided to tell republicans to vote against. Trump’s focus on a wall is asinine in my opinion and not the key to a secure border. Separating children from their families was intentionally cruel and a stain on our country.
  21. I haven’t read anything about the DNC being aware of Biden’s decline. That would indeed be troubling. Can you send a link? I think in hindsight it obviously would have been better if Biden had stepped aside earlier and we could have had a competitive primary.
  22. We could have lost more US personnel, we could have left more people behind. Trump is not known for his careful planning and execution.
