I'm studying for the civics test using the booklet that they gave me at the biometrics center and the file from the USCIS website (the questions are the same on both). I noticed that there are questions that have multiple answers with bullet points but it's not clear to me for all of them, which ones would require me to list all the points in my answer and which ones are simply suggesting different forms of the answer. For the following questions for example, I'm not sure if the bullet points also represent different versions of the correct answer and I only need to state one of them, or if I need to list all of them: 2. No idea how to edit my original post but I want to apologize for the misunderstanding because I accidentally typed that I lost my US passport. I don't have a US passport. The passport that I lost is the foreign passport that had the US visa on it which I used to enter the US.

It's not a US passport. It's the foreign passport from my country of origin and it has the visa that I used to enter the US 21 years ago. The naturalization interview letter says to bring original documents that were used to enter the US, so the visa that I entered the US with would be such a document.

Hi. So my naturalization interview is scheduled for next month and I was preparing by gathering all required documents as per the interview notice but I cannot for the life of me find my old US passport that has the visa on it that I originally entered the US with. I have old black and white copies of every page from that passport on an external hard drive but I'm really worried that the officer will insist that I needed to bring the original. Has it been other people's experience that officers asked to see the original entry visa? Note: I have another old passport that has the stamp of entry with the date and type of visa, but not the visa itself. I also do not have my I-94 because it was not stapled to my passport and fell out and got lost at some point, but that was not a hinderance to getting my green card because I had a copy of it.

This gives me hope! I am very nervous about my interview that's coming up in August because my husband filed for divorce in 2019 and the divorce is still ongoing and not finalized yet. I don't know if it will be finalized before the interview or after. I am applying under the 5 year rule because of this divorce and I've been nervous about what they will ask. I uploaded a bunch of documents proving the marriage anyways, such as his birth cert, joint tax records, and health insurance policy. I was advised by a lawyer not to bring up my almost ex. husband unless they do, and to know that under the 5 year rule I am not applying based on marriage, but you never know what the officer thinks and prioritizes so I will bring with me what I can.

Wow!! That's crazy!! I'm so glad that you saw it and I'm sorry that you had to be on the edge of your seat and cancel your trip. It's really hard to know how to plan life around immigration. And congratulations on finally becoming a US citizen!! I can see that you've had a tumultuous journey so I am very happy for you!

Thank you!! I know! They've made it impossible to reach an actual agent. I looked it up on google and found that telling the automated system that you wanna "reschedule interview/appointment" prompts it to transfer you to an agent.

Update: So I called them earlier today to ask how I can reschedule my interview if it gets scheduled while I'm traveling overseas, and they confirmed to me that my appointment has not been scheduled yet, consistent with the status on my online account. Later in the day, I logged in again because I needed my receipt number, and lo and behold, the status changed to "Interview Was Scheduled"!! My appointment is scheduled for August 3, which is annoying because July tickets are expensive unless I book toward the middle or end, and right now I don't feel like trying to reschedule because I finally got the date! I feel a mixture of annoyance and excitement lol I guess sometimes it takes an aloof phone call to remind or motivate them 😉🤷‍♀️

Thanks guys! Wow. Your process was fast! I submitted my app on March 11, 2023. So on July 11 it would already be 16 weeks from when I submitted. I see that someone else on Visajourney submitted their app 4 days after I did and got their biometrics on the same exact day as I did. But they posted that they got the interview scheduled for July 24! I messaged them asking when they got their notice but they haven't responded yet. By the way, this is my 3rd biometrics!! For my AOS they had me do it twice and now for naturalization, they had me do it a 3rd time while other people only had to do it once. I wonder if being a national of the country that I'm from has anything to do with it 😳? I haven't gotten any phone or email notifications either for progress in my case, so I have been checking the status online almost everyday 😅 Thanks again !

I was wondering when other people got their interview notice in relation to their biometrics or their interview. I really want to visit my sick dad who is outside the US but I'm worried about when my interview would be. I still haven't received a notice about it and the status is "case is being reviewed".

Hi. For people who received their interview notice, about how long before the scheduled interview did you receive the notice? I am seeing that for people in my area (Los Angeles) people are having their interviews about 4 months after their biometrics, but I was wondering when they are receiving the notice for the interview, because this website does not record that. Thanks!
