Well you're probably right, I may have to accept Nov 27. But, I'm a pretty proactive guy and I've already sent the consulate an email to begin arrangements for getting an interview date.
My case docs left NVC last week and I had my medical last Thursday, that gives me one week, so who knows, we'll see what happens.
If your docs left NVC last week, you might have a chance! But the anecdote above about another Aussie filer saying they got Nov too , makes me think they might have filled up the interview spots for Oct, but you never know!

Was that the only date they gave you, or did you ask for the soonest possible date?
Hi Hamo, I asked for any date in November. I do not think you will make it in time for the last Tuesday of October unfortunately, especially if your documents haven't left NVC yet. It takes around 6-8 days at least for the consulate to receive the documents. At that point it takes another few days for them to process and send an email to you.
I would start planning for a 27 Nov date or later imo. Hang in there!

I'm debating whether or not to send a preemptive email to the consulate and ask them if there's any possibility of getting an interview before the end of the month. There may still be a slim chance. My fiancee is practically begging me to beg them to take pity on me. 😅
From my research on people's timelines - Syd consulate seem to do k1s last Tuesday of each month. I also got my interview date this week and got Nov 27!

Hi - just wondering if anyone has been able to get a very minor / inmaterial correction on their Ds-160 at the K1 interview from their CO?
In my education section for one school instead of saying I completed Grade 9 that year , it says Grade 8.
My attorney did assure me that it was not material and as it was a typo - his advice was to get it corrected at the interview rather than submit a new Ds-160.

Yep ours is in transit too. It must have just updated.

Got the RFE. They want proof the dating app we met through is not an IMB.
So I’ve already printed the sites terms of services. The app did not charge a fee and is not specific to internationals. Should I highlight something from the terms of services or just send it as is? Do I need to get anything from the apps maker (if even possible) to state they are not an IMB?
The RFE defined a IMB as attached. I didn’t pay anything and it’s based on who’s around you (very Tinder like). So I assume it’s definitley not a IMB right?
Hi @Alan&Alex, we met through a similar app and we just attached the Terms and Conditions and explanation that it is a geographical based app that is not specifically for linking US nationals with foreign citizens, rather it is open to all people and that it generally doesn't charge a fee. We did highlight in our explanation the paragraph that explained what the app's aims were. We didn't get an RFE in the end.

Thank you so much. This is helpful. I really appreciate this. I really, really do and don't want to take your generous help for granted. I know you get asked the same question a thousand times. I know not to add anything not asked for, but I also don't want to not include the passport photos and someone else down the line picks up they are missing and calls the file back. So I will have fiance include a separate note for that part. I don't think we'll be in a rush to express this back on Monday as much as I want to. I want us to take care putting this together LOL.
Hi Snuffles!
I have been following your story - I am a fellow Aussie beneficiary. We included just our flight itineraries because we didn't have our boarding passes, so if you don't have boarding passes for some, you can use the flight itineraries too (and any passport stamps that you have when you were together).
Just my two cents but I would definitely include the passport photos and explain it. You missed it the first time, and they are already expecting you to send in photos and other things so it would be very easy for them to just add it to your file. There is just little downside and alot more upside to including it.

I called NVC again last night and after being told the day before they had just received it (9/26), they finally gave me a case no! Things seem to be moving a lot quicker now!
So for those who had been told there case had been received at NVC on 26th Sept and hadn't received a case no, you might want to try asking again in case its already done now!
On another note, @Greenbaum , how do you know the next shipment date is 10/3?

You will see many approvals throughout the rest of the week as we are nearing the next batch of cases being sent out to the Embassies. 10/3 is the next shipment date.

Unfortunately - going from anecdotal evidence on the forum - it looks like she will be unlikely to get an interview until the end of October.
I have done a search and scan on Aus timelines and it seems the Sydney consulate only do K1 visa interviews on the last Tuesday of each month.

Get married in China and apply for spouse visa - CR1 . Imo that's a better option. He would be able to work and travel upon arrival to the US.
And waiting times for k1 and cr1 are both long anyway.
If they are a same sex couple.. they won't be able to get married in China. China does not recognise same-sex marriage. Your best bet may be finding another country (i.e Argentina) where your boyfriend can get a visa to, and then get married there, then apply for CR1.

Congratulations man! So happy it worked out for you.
Don't worry - what happens is that they will approve you pending them receiving the medical report. And then once they receive it , they will just issue your visa!
