petitioning spouse and stepchildren
milimelo replied to ChadW's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
No - each I-130 requires a separate fee. So $535 X3. Make sure you've read the instructions to the forms before completing the forms. We have a guide for all types of petitions - Guides tab. -
Have you bothered looking it up yourself? https://in.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/ very clear information: The Immigrant Visa Unit at the U.S. Consulate General Mumbai has resumed scheduling of routine appointments of all visa categories.

I'm new. Father filed i-130.
milimelo replied to Dash8Q4's topic in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
Look up visa bulletin on state.gov Then see what priority date is listed under currently processing immigrant visas. If it’s before your date, you’ll wait a while. Normally take 5-8 years for son/daughter over 21 yo depending on the country. -
There was someone that received SS numbers for his children by mailing the forms in and they got them back fast - try searching on VJ.

How to file I-864 in my case?
milimelo replied to kjsmith91's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
You're still the primary sponsor so you'll have to do I-864, file taxes, and potentially move to the US ahead of family if you can't prove re-establishment of domicile. -
The only fast passport you can get overseas is the limited validity emergency passport and then you'd have to apply for the regular one upon return (I think the $$ paid would be applied to the regular passport application but don't quote me on that). It takes 5-6 weeks for regular passport overseas.

Moving to NYC with my cat
milimelo replied to Wahid Younis's topic in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
You do NOT ever drug cats as it could depress their breathing and cause death. I've traveled 10 times with our cats in and out of the US both in cabin and in the hold and never drugged either one. Simple scarf over pet carrier was enough to make the cat snooze off with the sound of engines. Never an issue. Yes, it's gotten more difficult to transport pets in the last couple of years. If you're so sensitive to sounds of the cat get a pair of earplugs. -
Customs officer accidentally gave CR1 Visa
milimelo replied to xzsca10's topic in General Immigration-Related Discussion
Form is I-90 - file it online. They'll probably take the wrong card at biometrics. Do NOT file I-130, I-751. -
Customs officer accidentally gave CR1 Visa
milimelo replied to xzsca10's topic in General Immigration-Related Discussion
File I-90 (no fee) AND then involve your congressman or senator's immigration aide under help with federal agencies to follow through (direct line of communication with USCIS). You'll need to file a release of info form so they can represent you but once they're on the case it moves pretty fast. My senator was useless (well his aide) but congressman's staffer was awesome. -
Customs officer accidentally gave CR1 Visa
milimelo replied to xzsca10's topic in General Immigration-Related Discussion
Provide date of arrival to the US and date of marriage. If this is USCIS error, there’s absolutely no reason to do I-751. -
If they revoked it they would've emailed him to say don't travel as we've revoked it. If he never actually went in with his passport then they wouldn't be able to physically cancel the visa but they could still do it in their systems. So, did your husband actually go in person and give them his passport or not? If not, just call/email the consular and say you changed your mind you're proceeding (especially if you never signed a paper saying you're revoking your petition).

Diversity visa lottery? Opens up in October/November. Friend plays, wife plays. Whoever wins, brings the other one and kids.

Based on what you wrote I wouldn’t expect any problems.

i-134 DV lottery and form I-134 (turkey embassy)
milimelo replied to ayson202's topic in Diversity Lottery Visas
That's interesting they're asking for it. My sister came via DV 10+ years ago and didn't have to bring I-134. But she did have an offer letter already and did her Masters in the US. -
That's incorrect for Nigeria portion. If this was requested by USCIS or Embassy, Embassy will schedule the applicant when to come and get the test done - has to be supervised by an American employee. I'm sure they have a pile of test kits to go through after covid. Edited to add - the kit was sent to the embassy with the applicant name.
