  1. Depends how long it takes to approve I-130 - if more than 10 years, niece may still be eligible. There is nothing faster and no, you can't expedite on account of aging out in F4 category. Depending which country family is from, if eligible, they should play diversity visa lottery.
  2. https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2023/05/01/the-biden-administration-will-end-covid-19-vaccination-requirements-for-federal-employees-contractors-international-travelers-head-start-educators-and-cms-certified-facilities/
  3. No, you can't file CRBA now - you weren't a citizen before the child was born. You need to go through immigrant visa and upon entry the child will be a USC (don't pay for green card issuance, just file for child's passport after entry to the US). Covid or no covid - the rule has always been you have to be in touch at least once a year to keep petition alive in NVC. Get in touch with them again and wait your turn.
  4. Green card trumps EAD. What's even better for work purposes - unrestricted SS card (hopefully you went back to SSA once you received your GC to remove restriction) and a valid drivers' license. Absolutely no need to show GC for employment purposes - and you as an employee get to decide what sort of documents to show to satisfy I-9 for e-verify.
  5. Plenty of forums with DV lottery winners - - try searching for those. Your best bet is to start looking for jobs (linkedin, glassdoor and similar) and decide where it makes sense work-wise, family-wise. I think I read somewhere Iowa was providing start up family costs for their newcomers (this was couple years ago, not sure if that's still the case). Look at the website of the city/county chamber of commerce you're interested in moving to. Also google US states by cost of living; search for in-demand occupations by state.
  6. I don't see a problem - USCIS has certainly seen plenty of relationships and marriages where two individuals are not practicing the same religion.

That's not how it works especially in big countries. For example, immigrant visas in Mexico aren't done in Mexico City, Hermosillo or Matamoros, they're done in Ciudad Juarez. For India, Mumbai does all immigrant visas. In China it's Guangzhou. You don't get to decide where to interview unless you're going for tourist visa which doesn't seem to be the case. So you could've listed even New Delhi on your application, if Delhi doesn't do immigrant visas, NVC will by default move you to Mumbai. You don't have to like it, but you will have to go to Mumbai if you want that immigrant visa. Did you get your NVC number after I-130 approval? Kolkata: Consular Section The links between Kolkata and the United States are over 200 years old. In 1787, only four years after the end of the American Revolutionary War, the first American ship to visit India reached Kolkata. Recognizing the importance of contact with India, President George Washington, on November 19, 1792, nominated Benjamin Joy to be the first U.S. Consul in Kolkata. One American ship, the “GEORGE”, actually made twenty-one round trip voyages between 1815 and 1837. Over the years the bonds between Kolkata and the U.S.A. have grown stronger. Those who built these bridges of understanding were individual men and women who were zealous in their desire to understand each other and who were dedicated to the vision of a world of peace and fellowship based on mutual interest and trust. The Consular Section over the years has issued thousands of visas to facilitate travel to U.S. for various reasons. The Kolkata Consular district covers the vast areas of Eastern and Northeastern Region. The Consular District can be traced from the regional map given above. 8. You'll enter new passport info when at NVC/completing DS-260. Nothing to do with I-130 at USCIS.
  9. No - each I-130 requires a separate fee. So $535 X3. Make sure you've read the instructions to the forms before completing the forms. We have a guide for all types of petitions - Guides tab.

Have you bothered looking it up yourself? https://in.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/ very clear information: The Immigrant Visa Unit at the U.S. Consulate General Mumbai has resumed scheduling of routine appointments of all visa categories.
  11. Play Diversity visa lottery in October/November? Brother in law plays, his wife plays. The son that's over 18 can also play but if he wins only he gets to come, not the rest of the family.
  12. Look up visa bulletin on state.gov Then see what priority date is listed under currently processing immigrant visas. If it’s before your date, you’ll wait a while. Normally take 5-8 years for son/daughter over 21 yo depending on the country.
  13. There was someone that received SS numbers for his children by mailing the forms in and they got them back fast - try searching on VJ.
  14. The immigrant visa is not tied to any POE - you can buy a plane ticket to any location in the US.
  15. You're still the primary sponsor so you'll have to do I-864, file taxes, and potentially move to the US ahead of family if you can't prove re-establishment of domicile.
  16. The only fast passport you can get overseas is the limited validity emergency passport and then you'd have to apply for the regular one upon return (I think the $$ paid would be applied to the regular passport application but don't quote me on that). It takes 5-6 weeks for regular passport overseas.
  17. Just go with the new and cancelled old passport and you'll be fine.
  18. Yes, you're still your husband's sponsor - and will be all the way until he naturalizes.
  19. You do NOT ever drug cats as it could depress their breathing and cause death. I've traveled 10 times with our cats in and out of the US both in cabin and in the hold and never drugged either one. Simple scarf over pet carrier was enough to make the cat snooze off with the sound of engines. Never an issue. Yes, it's gotten more difficult to transport pets in the last couple of years. If you're so sensitive to sounds of the cat get a pair of earplugs.
  20. Form is I-90 - file it online. They'll probably take the wrong card at biometrics. Do NOT file I-130, I-751.
  21. File I-90 (no fee) AND then involve your congressman or senator's immigration aide under help with federal agencies to follow through (direct line of communication with USCIS). You'll need to file a release of info form so they can represent you but once they're on the case it moves pretty fast. My senator was useless (well his aide) but congressman's staffer was awesome.
