Well it's pretty easy - either she gets on the plane and you then provide proof she's in the US like an ATM receipt, purchase of something, medical appointment, voter card, or she shows evidence that's she's already looking for a job in the US (has an interview lined up for a certain date), has packed out and given notice at her current residence, has gotten quotes from movers to move what she's accumulated to the US...

We had warnings about leishmaniasis when we were in Africa - as in don't swim in rivers and similar. For leishmaniasis there's a youtube video of a US travel blogger who went to Amazon and got bitten and of course local doctors were stumped, stumped I tell you. He ended up going to NIH for full diagnosis and start of treatment though if I remember correctly he was told to go back to South America as they're more well versed in treatments available than in the US.

This one would definitely work for early appointment expedite. You can request it yourself after you pick a date that's available (even if months later), or you can go through your congressional representative(s) for it. In either case, you have to have an existing appointment (sounds like you have one already) but as circumstances have changed you're now requesting an earlier appointment for medical testing purposes. Your congressional representative can work for you - you just provide as much information as possible to make it easy on all sides. Good luck!

ir1-cr1 Ir1 refused under section 221(g)
milimelo replied to Ismail-1989's topic in US Embassy and Consulate Discussion
Joint sponsor only makes $27k? No wonder they turned that one down. You need someone who's comfortably above poverty line. Doesn't help that your wife is not working and on disability. -

Looks like they believe you'd become public charge and are asking for joint sponsor. What does your wife make currently? You mentioned her illness, is she not working and on SSI SSDI? Morocco can be tough. -
Well for starters, only the intending immigrant - your wife - would be allowed in. That means if you're coming with your wife and baby, make plans how to fill your and your baby's time while your wife is in the consular section. The following persons may accompany a visa applicant to their interview: Applicants may bring ONE interpreter if they do not speak English or Vietnamese well enough to participate in an interview. Applicants may bring ONE person to help if they are elderly, disabled, or a minor child.

F4 visa (Merged threads)

If there's a contact for Islamabad IV unit email them to ask about the status? As Boiler said, they are backed up. -
^^ What Ontarkie above said. We also see a lot of (s)he wouldn't marry, can I marry someone else? Not on K1 visa you can't - it's a visa from hell IMO as USC has the upper hand and can string you along until I-94 has expired and then you're out of status, can't change to a different status, can't AOS. Next time, if you leave and do get married, spousal visa only should be your consideration - you're an LPR from activating your immigrant visa at POE, can work from day 1, faster time to citizenship, and I'd say peace of mind for the immigrant that should anything happen they're protected.

Email NVC to ask if it doesn't show up in the next couple of months? -
Continuous residency will be your problem - how are you going to show you were in the USCIS district for minimum of three months if you're not stationary for that time? Go over the N-400 rules for application before you submit N-400.

What is the next step after Green Card
milimelo replied to fabsfabs's topic in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
Go to uscis.gov and download the Guide for New Immigrants. https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/guides/M-618.pdf Do explain - if you just received your green card that means you've entered in the US, were processed by immigration at POE and have paid for your green card if you've received it to the listed address (Texas). You can change the address online on uscis.gov - you actually HAVE TO notify uscis of your new address within 10 days of moving. Depending on which state you live in - google drivers license STATE Credit score you get by opening bank account, credit card, utilities, getting a mortgage or another form of debt - car loan for example. Getting a job can help with all that. -
USC father wants 8 yr old
milimelo replied to Jawaree's topic in Consular Reports of Birth Abroad (CRBA)
Why didn't he go through CRBA and gotten the child US passport when he was born? Why wait until now? Anyways, yes, he can book an appointment with Kingston Embassy ACS, complete the CRBA paperwork and DS-11 form for passport and head down to await appointment. Make sure he has evidence of US residency for requisite number of years. Passports now need about 4-5 weeks so hopefully he can hang out until passport in hand. If it's really that dire, ask about emergency passport. -
J1 VISA SPONSOR CHANGING BEFORE COMING USA
milimelo replied to YSFTRY's topic in Student & Exchange Visitor Visas
You need a new DS-2019 and a new J-1 visa. For the university you have J-1 visa for, hopefully you have notified them you won't be coming so they can close out your DS-2019 so it's not causing you issues with the new university. -

re-entry permit expiring and further options
milimelo replied to Vabsmith's topic in General Immigration-Related Discussion
The purpose of I-751 is to remove conditions of residency. Your marriage was under 2 years old when your wife received her green card - that's why the green card was for 2 years. You lift the residency conditions so she can get 10-yr green card which is unrestricted. All green cards regardless of type are to be legal permanent resident of the US. The expectation is you'll be living and working in the US. If you have never read the guide for new immigrants, now is the time to familiarize yourself with it: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/guides/M-618.pdf
