  1. I strongly suggest filling your N400 online, it's easier and you can upload all the necessary documents online
  2. Once you start filling the form it will show you all the necessary evidence needed and you can save and exit anytime If I recall well, you need a copy of chile passport or green card , birth certificate, parent certificate of citizenship I filed N600 for my son and it took 22months. However, it was approved June 2024 and we are still waiting for his oath to be scheduled.
  3. If they were green card holders and under 18, yes, they became citizen the same day you took you oath. Since they are under 18, you can get them a green card, once they get that, you can use your naturalization certificate plus their green card and get them a passport. No need to file N400 however, once they get the passport, you can consider filling N600 for them
  4. Congratulations and you made the right decision to file for the N600, it's expensive but equally good. That part of the question is about you the parent. Since you are citizen now, you are USA nationality. I filed my son's n600 since Oct 2022 still waiting.
  5. Come to my city Las Vegas, super easy and fast, they even have drive through marriage.
  6. I will apply the passport then contact your congress/senator office with a proof of your travel plans.
  7. More than likely, she got it from her mum. Similar to my Son's case, I got my citizenship when he was under 18yr so he automatically gain citizenship from me. I did asked the same question to the USCIS officer at my oath ceremony and she said my son become citizen the same day I got mine. He got his passport but I also filed the N600. In short, your wife citizenship date will be the date her mum took the oath it should be on the citizenship certificate
  8. Am telling you the letter from the passport office includes DNA option. The issue is they don't understand why a birth was not registered after 1yr of birth so they doubting if the child is your child. Am sure he child is under 18 so OP is trying to get citizenship for the child through her. In the birth certificate I provided for my so, there is a column which read when was birth registered and the date was more than 1yr after birth and that was the issue
  9. No you missing the point. The child was born in Nigeria. Unfortunately in Africa, most of have have our birth certificates weeks/months after birth and record keeping is next to zero. I went through the same process when I applied a passport for my son and I ended up doing DNA test
  10. I had the same problem for my son. It's very frustrating. I sent the public records but they also rejected it. The letter the passport office sent you indicates that a DNA test is also acceptable. I ended up doing the DNA but costed me around $395 dollars.
  11. My Aunty is also a green card holder, she was out of the country for 13months, upon her arrival at JFK, she was taken to a secondary inspection room, according to her, they asked her why was she away for long and she said she visited family and had to take care of her mum. After 45mins, they let her in. The good thing is the airlines only checked if her green card is valid.
  12. Form D-3053 is only for passport application. Am saying you can apply for his passport without waiting for the N600 Since u have shared custody, the father has to fill and sign D-3053 and mail u back the original signed plus copy of his Government issued ID or passport
  13. Agree, if she has fully custody, nothing is needed from the biological father. And yes this has nothing to do with the step father.
  14. Hi, I can help as I also filed N600 for my son and it was approved. Just a heads-up up, it's around $1000. The question is whether you and the child biological father were married before the child was born or adopted. For the passport, you can apply for your son using your naturalization certificate, however the father will have to sign form D-3053 and the need the original signed document. If he lives outside of the US, you can email him the form and he sign and get it notarized and mail it mail it back to u if possible via DHL, it's faster. However, if you have fully custody of the child then the father's consent is not needed. Supporting documents when applying for his passport. 1. Your certificate of citizenship 2. His green card 3. His birth certificate 4. Marriage or divorce certificate with his biological father You can book appointment at the USPS or some libraries offer it as well. Yes the N600 is optional but highly recommended so yes you made the right decision. Let me know if you have any questions. Happy to share my little experience
  15. This is good question, my son got citizenship through me, I applied his passport and it was approved. I also applied N600 still pending. So out of curiosity, I call the passport office to confirm the date my son became citizen, the lady told me is the date the passport was issued, the following day, I call USCIS and the guy told me my son became citizen the same day I was citizen. A week later, I call USCIS again and asked to speak with Tier 2, he told me legally, it's the date the passport was issue so am just 😕 confuse. I intend to go by the date on his passport
  16. You can reach out to you senator or congressional rep for help. My only concern is since you are still within the processing time, USCIS might just say they still reviewing you case.
  17. I now work 7 days a week to pay our bills. I recommended seeing a therapist she refused. So yes am very frustrated
  18. The only reason is She quit her job because according to her, she don't like the job. That's is okay. But the issue is I cannot continue paying all the bills, I told her to find a different job. Just to be clear, I have no issue if she tries to find a job, I understand it can take time, my issue is she not making any attempt at all.
  19. I got my citizenship last year in October through Marriage. Last month i.got promoted and now make double what my wife makes. Unfortunately, my wife decided to leave her job and for the last few weeks, I have been paying all the bills and this is too much. I have complained but to no avail. Am grateful to my wife because I got citizenship through her but the truth is I cannot continue paying the bills 100%. Things are not looking good and am thinking of divorce. This is a hard decision for me and I know she may feel that I used her for papers but that is not true. If she decide to get a job and help with the bills am ready to stay in the Marriage. My heart is bleeding as am writing this. We bought a house and bought 2 vehicles together. Things are not looking good. Should we be divorce, I don't wanna around . Am a stronger believer in marriages. Should our marriage end, I wanna look for a wife to continue my life. However am not sure where on earth my next wife might come from. My question is should my new wife be out of status or outside of the US, am I eligible to petition for her since am already a US citizen without any issue?
  20. I did the same thing, filed my N400 online then travel for 1 month, came back and got my interview few weeks later back in 2022. Just monitor your online account as the interview letter would be uploaded there. So u can know when is the interview. Normally is atleast 30days out. Good luck and safe travels
  21. Unfortunately, the email or text alert is not reliable. I never received my N400 interview, I guess the postman lost it. However I have a app that alerted me when my case was updated so I was able to print the interview notice from my USCIS account. Try calling USCIS and ask to be transfer to Tier 2/ supervisor
  22. Agree with what is said. You are not even 100% certain that you will be issued the visa. So c I would not book or pay anything until I get the visa . No disrespect just trying to be honest
