Working on submitting - so close! a few final questions: 1. Anyone have a cover letter asking for combo interview i could review? 2. Tax return Transcript: I cant seem to find the right URL..Anyone have it handy? We asked for those in 2022 (2021 and 2022) when we were applying in January 2023 for the 751- so it says requesting date 2022. Do I need to re request? We do need to request for 2023 3. Should we also include the 36 ext letter? (instead of just 48?) A 4. my scanner is forcing me to do one pdf side at a time (ex green card one pdf scanned for front, and a new pdf scanned for back) instead of a combined. i assume thats okay? so a unique pdf for front and back of all docs? (gc, ext letter)

last question, for the docs you actually upload, do they have a naming convention they prefer? i am putting something like this: SeanPassportPage_CaitlinSean_2024? or if its our apt insurance maybe change to last years? trying to keep it consistent.

Ive seen some people here above creating cover letters, etc..we dont need to do that anymore since its online right? we are working on gathering our stuff before we start online application; is list below good enough? 1 File 400 2 3 X years of tax returns (Summary sheet from the IRS website) 3 Birth certificates for both of us 4 Photo passport pages for both of us 5 Current Apt Rent Copy 6 Current Apt Insurance Copy 7 Green card front and back 8 Marriage certificate 9 Photo of our jointly held credit card 10 6 pages of photos (18 total photos) from the past year (time we renewed the GC) with holidays, trips and our anniversary. 11 Current join health insurance 12 Joint Bank Statements

Additionally, we created an account and we cant find the USCIS online account number. there is no profile page or anything anywhere. i doubt you have to have it to apply for citizenship but it would be nice.

Hi all, to confirm, my husbands green card expiration date is march 23, 2022 - so we are okay to apply for citizenship this month right? i am the american citizen and we have been married since march 2020.

i looked at my lifting conditions timeline, it looks like we appllied last jan and got the 48 month ext in march

We flew home from Asia 3 days ago and had no issues at all when checking in at Vietnam using his expired gc and letter. When we came back to immigration Thursday (which BTW was insane as they had tourists, gc, and global entry all in one line...not sure what was going on but it was horrible if anyone else was there this past Thur) we got to the global entry part and my husband (as did we) had to talk to the guy. we gave him the letter and gc, and it was loud so i couldnt hear him - that we had to update the global entry but wasnt sure if that meant with the new GC we will probably never get (as my husband will prob be a citizen by the time we hear) or if he means we have to do some type of update with GE with the EXT letter? anyone know? thanks

I forgot my husbsand has global entry, so hopefully it will be fine and not have to deal with the letter!

Hi all, I saw there was a thread on this but it was from 2017 so I thought I would do a new one as the link from the government in there was bad. My husband (British) and I (American) are traveling to Asia with my family for the first time since we got the extension letter end of Dec. Right now his letter is for 48 months (from March 2023). We havent done this before, so a little nervous, so sorry if these questions have been answered or seem easy. When we leave for Tokyo, my husband can use his normal British passport to exit the US, right, then upon returning, he will need to show his expired GC and the actual letter, correct? Does he need to show the Delta airline person coming back or only at Ohare when we return? Any other docs we can print (as the airline people in Asia may now know), or even the people at Ohare upon our return? I have heard horror stories of immigration people leaving other countries or even ours, not knowing what the letter is Thanks, Caitlin

if my husbands green card expired march 23, 2023, when can he apply? are you saying the application requirements are different pending when you apply?

In looking to the future, what type of stuff should my husband and i be collecting for citizenship? I hope the days of proof are over but I want to be mindful so we arent rushing when we can apply for it.

so this "new" 48 extended I-55I notice, is everyone getting these? this is new right? my friend got it who filed in november, so if we filed in jan..maybe a lot of us will get it in april/ may? our original one was 36 months

we checked our case online then i got a letter.

They used my husbands biometrics and got a letter confirming. now we just wait to see if we get an interview i guess.

Hi! it is 36 months. So I guess just check every few months if it says anything for biometrics / interview. It says another NOA letter will come if they need our biometrics, i guess we just wait. i assume same with interview, a letter will come if they want it. thanks for confirming. got it. once march 24 hits and we leave the us, we will bring that all with us. so when we book our trip to england in may, when we get to checking in, show them the letter so they can do that manually?
