  1. In my experience, we got the green card in July/August 2021 and had the interview in January 2022. We used the DC office. I do not think you would need to travel too many times so it would not be worth the travel document.
  2. I have not done this because my children live with myself and my wife. I do not think this is necessary unless you there is a divorce/separation/death involved.
  3. Thanks for adding your experience. It seems that the grandfather is required to attend as per most of the posts. My father was not required and that could possibly be due to COVID 19 restrictions at the time. I may edit my original post to reflect that if more people post that the grandfather was required.
  4. You are allowed to travel internationally on your other passport. As I mentioned, they prefer you to travel on the American passport. When my wife went to apply for the passport, she was told at the embassy that she shouldn't have travelled without the American passport but it was not a big deal. Bring all the original documents that you submitted. They are scheduling your interview on the basis of what you have submitted.
  5. We went back overseas and applied for the passport. As I mentioned, they prefer that you leave the country with the US passport in hand.
  6. Yes, it is a good sign. Easy questions about the marriage, time spent in the US, etc. Have you done fingerprinting? We had a special case as mentioned above. We were in the US visiting family anyways and we're able to do it in a different field office.
  7. Oath was in the same day as the interview. You just need 1 day for the oath and interview. I would recommend Washington DC field office. We stayed for three days. Arrived the day before, one day for interview and oath, and travelled the next day. Applied for the passport overseas even though it is frowned upon. It is much quicker.
  8. If they are too young, they will obviously come back with you. A return ticket is probably enough if they ask.
  9. Who is requesting a visa? I would recommend that only the child and American parent travel for this purpose.
  10. My children were young so I have no information on the biometrics.
  11. Apologies for the late response. Reply to the original email where they denied your biometrics from the UAE. Let them know that you want to schedule your appointment. They should reply to your email. Just bother them a bit.
  12. First: It would be advisable to take his passport. You are supposed to bring the original. As another poster suggested, you can get it sent in the mail. Second: You can go home and apply passport from there so you don't need to wait.
  13. Please take a look at this as it might help you: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/travel-legal-considerations/us-citizenship/child-citizenship-act-of-2000.html#:~:text=The Child Citizenship Act of,acquire U.S. citizenship at birth.
  14. We could not get fingerprinted in Qatar so they told us to get fingerprinted in the US shortly before our interview.
