  1. I cant belive that the date fir a case inquiry went back again another month. It is the 3rd time my NOA1 date is close to the case inquiry date, and the date goes back to march! I am so tired....i Aldo tried an expedite request because i have a job offerta and they told me I was going to receive an email to send proof in 5 days (max 30). 25 days and still no news. I feel so low. Why is taking so long! This is unbelivable

Can someone tell me if this apply to me, I’m adjusting from K1. I was under the impression I don’t need a new medical then someone just send me this and told me I will need a new one and I have my interview next week too.

No you dont need one. I was having the same conversation in another group and a girl came out with a uscis manual explanation saying that k1 adjuster of status dont need a new medical :)

It's great to see March EADs moving forward, current date for inquiry on USCIS is March 24th. We filed early on in April so I am really hoping we will hear something within the next 4 weeks or so. Crossing our fingers. My husband told me that he's feeling very depressed being unable to work for this long. I really wish I could help him more. I work full time and I'm in school full time so it's been really hard for me to find enough time to entertain him. He feels trapped in the house, lonely and depressed. I feel so sad for him and I don't know what to do. I keep telling him to stay positive and try to find little things to do to keep busy but I think not working just bleeds apathy into everything. I don't have many friends as it is, so it's not like I can introduce him to many people either. I dont want to get his hopes up and tell him it could be within the next month, because we all know how unreliable USCIS is. What are you or your spouses doing to pass time until getting a job? We're feeling hopeless here.

Hi! I also filed early april and really looking forward for the EAD....I think is unbelivable that the wait went up! I saw the processing time for the I 129F going down to 3 months (mine took almost 7 last year!) And I was hoping to see the EAD time going down as well...but it went up it seems!!! It is really frustrating....I saw timeline if 5 months an other of even 9 months!!! I would like to begin to apply to jobs but with all this uncertainty I dont know what to do. March 24 is the date inquire? Is it the date they received the application or the NOA1 date? Anyway that's great news!!! The uscis website seems more optimistic than VJ timelines.... Let's hope for the best

Consulates routinely extend the validity of a petition.  If a legit reason was required then one as simple as "More time is required to  gather the required documents to support the visa application" is "legit."

Oh ok, that is a really good news. Thank you, I will try this way.

Your best bet is just to schedule your interview as close to the expiration date as possible but not too close or your risk losing it. You can try asking USCIS to extend your petition approval but I’ve heard they don’t like that and it’s not always guaranteed that they will.

Why not too soon? The expiration date is the time until when you have the possibility to do the interview right?

Thank you! Did you visit a field center? Do you know the email you used? Thanks so much!

I was currently in my country...so i sent my boyfriend to Newark field office. I made him also call USCIS. Both cases he had useless answers about different kind of waivers (mine was based on no objection).

So i wrote to vsc.ncscfollowup@dhs.gov asking for a case number explaining that i have tried other ways but i couldn't have a real answer.

Good luck! I wrote 2 mails before receiving an answer.... be careful tu put all your info like is written in the guidelines:

    Mailbox Guidelines

We will respond to your email if it meets the guidelines outlined on uscis.gov on the Contact Us page under USCIS Service Centers.  This means that your email must:

    ·         Contain all required information; and

    ·         Show that you called the National Customer Service Center (NCSC) or submitted an on-line case inquiry , but the response you received from our service center was not correct.

If you meet these guidelines, we will send you a response from this email box or by sending a letter in the mail within 15 days.

    Additional Action Needed

If you need help, but do not meet the mailbox guidelines, please review the table below for additional resources.

    If you…

    Then you may…

Received a correct response and have another question on your case,

Submit another online request or call our NCSC.

Have not received a response within 30 days of your inquiry (15 days for expedited inquiries) to national customer service,

Submit an online request or call our NCSC to have your inquiry elevated.

    Need to change your address,

Submit a change of address request.

Would like additional case assistance or to expedite your case,

Contact the National Customer Service Center.

Want to appeal or request review of a decision that went against you,

Submit Form I-290B, Notice of Appeal or Motion.

If you need further assistance, we have many tools at www.uscis.gov/tools and my.uscis.gov to help you.

Hi guys, I just wanted to comment that this has been a very helpful thread. Thanks to all of you! All best and good luck everybody

Hi Chiara, did you receive anything from USCIS yet? Thank you

HI! Yes, i wrote 2 email to uscis vermont service center because since april i didn't receive any receipt notice. They answered me a few weeks after giving me a case number and a week after i received the waiver in the mail box :) My suggestion is to write an email explaining your situation with all the right info proving that you tried already to call the call the call center without real answers and possibly visit a field office.

    Best

    Chiara

  10. Thank you all for your answers. I know ot is not an "emergency" but i read people obtaining an expedit process or an advanced parole right away for phd dissertantions and even to attend their own planned religion wedding in their own country.... because the AP would not arrive in time.

I really dont know what to think. Moreover i just know it will be in spring not sure about a real date yet.

I will schedule another appointment at new york office and ask for more details myself.

  11. I totally understand...It is just that the total process is very frustrating...last year the processing time were almost half...When i filled the petition i thought i would have my visa ready maximum in September...now everything is shifted of 3/4 months and i risk to get screwed.

I totally understand the amount of cases and the background checking etc. It is just very difficult to plan your life and decisions under these circumstances

  12. Hi all,

I have a question about the emergency advance parole...i will enter the US and probably get married in late december. I am finishing the phD so I must return to my country for the final thesis discussion at the end of february/march.

My fiancee asked at the local USCIS office and was told that my reason to leave is legit enough to ask for an expedite process or emergency advance parole.

I was wondering if anyone experienced this process and how it works.

Should i go to the office as soon as i know the discussion date?

thanks in advance for any advice/experience :)
