The consulate now sends instructions to open a MyTravelGov account to apply for a "CRBA" only problem is that no matter what I try I can't login to my newly created (and activated) account, I get "Sorry, the identification you entered was not recognized. Please try again."
The consulate insists this is the only way to go and they cannot assist me with technical issues, while the U.S. Department of State helpdesk insists they cannot assist with any login issues and I must contact the consulate directly.
