This is what I have done..,
https://NVC.state.gov.interview
”prepare for interview “
under step 2, “list of US Embassies and Consulates”
Chose Montreal
step 1: Register your interview
(goes to an external site)
I sign in, using my email and password
Select IV Service: (choices below)
- I need to register an immigrant visa appointment
- I have received a letter/email from the consular section with instructions to schedule an immigrant visa appointment
- I have received a letter from the consular section with instructions to register or schedule a K Visa appointment
- I have received a letter to register or schedule a Diversity Lottery visa appointment
I chose the first option
Next section titled “ New Applicant”, I fill out all my personal details including passport number, date of birth, phone number, email address, case number and DS-260 #.
At the end in green, I click “create Applicant”
Next screen shows “ The Immigrant VISA case number provided is not ready to schedule an appointment.”
I am perplexed!!

I think someone had similar problem, you just had to wait a bit or try again later.
Thanks ! I just hope it won’t be too late!

Ugh that's super frustrating - so do you get the error page when you enter your #?
When you register you get to choose where you want your visa sent via mail (standard or courier) - I think it also allows them to confirm your appointment.
It lets me sign in, and I fill in all the details like date of birth, passport number etc, then I click submit on the end, and error message.
Thanks for for the explanation!

Mine is also June 21st! I had trouble at first registering mine, it kept saying that I didn't have an interview date yet (even though I received the email) but after a few days it allowed me to. Did you try to contact the number/email on the error page?
Yes, I contacted the help desk and they gave me a “non” answer, answer! What does the registering actually do?

No! I still haven’t been able to register, and I don’t know what to do!

I received my Interview appointment of June 21,2019 in Montreal. I have followed the steps as per the email. I keep trying to “register my Interview “, and get the following error message each time, “ The Immigrant VISA case number provided is not ready to schedule an appointment “. I am really confused! I have sent a help desk ticket, and they say an 8 week turnaround. Has anyone had this error, and if so how did you fix it?
Thanks
