  1. Sorry to hear it is not going well. I went through a divorce and removed conditions based on good faith marriage. It happens a lot. Your evidence looks pretty good to me. The list looks like what I had pretty much 1 to 1. I hired a good lawyer who filed this for me and got approved without an interview. I think in your case since you did not have one during AOS there is a good chance you will be called in but who knows. It took me 28 months so brace yourself for the long wait.
  2. Tourism bring insane amount of money in. US is a superpower where the world's rich want to vacation and take pictures. If I remember it right from my previous research the annual number from tourism was in low hundred billions. To put that in perspective my home country's annual budget is roughly 25-30bn...
  3. I have not yet filed anything. I have a married sibling who is over 21. Wanted to know the current situation and wait times. I will be filing in January
  4. Hi all, I would be grateful if any experienced member could answer how long is the current wait for F-4 visa? I see Visa Bulletin showing 2007 for countries other than China. India, Mexico, and Philippines. Is this correct? Has there been any improvement in visa availability in general regarding F-4 in recent years?
  5. Most certainly not. I feel like the USCIS affairs shaved off a few years of my life due to pure stress and long delays.
  6. This. Fly back, make sure the application is still pending. Get your 797 and bring it to her. You may be overthinking this.
  7. 1k. I hired this attorney for my I-751 as well. Only reason I opted for help with N400 was my prior divorce and a traffic ticket on record. I could have easily done it myself but chose that 1K was worth my peace of mind. Attending the interview was an additional $500. This was optional.
  8. - Mailed 5/26 - NOA 6/2 - Interview was scheduled update 8/20 - Interview scheduled for 9/27 - Same day oath 9/27 Evidence submitted: Copy of GC, cooy of current marriage certificate, copy of previous divorce, copy of my disclosed traffic violation and payment, copy of selective services card. Arrived at 8:20 for 8:35 interview. Check in took 10 mins. Was valled in around 8:45. IO was super friendly. Got 6/6 civics part and moved to reading and writing a sentence. Then Yes and No questions. My attorney asked the IO to update my recent travel dates. IO said everything looked good and asked if I planned to travel in the next few weeks. He informed me that of I agreed to the same day oath my GC was going to be taken away and that I'd need to wait weeks for my passport. I took the same day oath 30 mins after my interview. Oath took 30 mins or so. Received my Naturalization Certificate immediately and left 🇺🇸 Total timeline 4 months from mailing the docs to naturalizing. Good luck to all!
  9. The fee which is payable to the "U.S. Department of State" need to be a total of all fees (expedites plus passport book) in one lump sum correct? I understand that the USPS fee I can pay with my CC at the time of appt.
  10. I am going to run up to Walgreens around the corner and take passport pics there.
  11. Hi all - I made an appointment with the USPS for my passport. I know I need to bring the DS-11, a check for the fee and supporting docs. When it comes to supporting docs I am a bit confused. Do I need to bring both the original and also black and white copy of the naturalization certificate? If so, will they take both at the appointment or send me back with the original? I don't fee l very comfortable having the original taken for months as this would mean I have absolutely no document of any sort regarding my status. Any help would be appreciated. Submit your original evidence of U.S. citizenship. Submit a photocopy of the front (and back, if there is printed information) of your original evidence of U.S. citizenship. Photocopies must be: legible, on white 8.5”x11” standard paper, black and white, and single sided. In some cases, you may be able to submit a certified copy of your citizenship evidence. A certified copy is any document that has the seal or stamp of the official issuing authority. If you don't want to submit a photocopy of your citizenship evidence, you may submit a second certified copy of your citizenship evidence, which we will keep. If you don’t submit a photocopy or a second certified copy of your citizenship evidence, your passport processing could be delayed. You cannot submit digital evidence of U.S. citizenship (e.g. electronic or mobile birth certificate) when applying for a U.S. passport. You must continue to submit your physical evidence of U.S. citizenship and a photocopy of it.
  12. - Interview was scheduled for 8:35AM in the Raleigh, NC office. I went with my lawyer who helped file my N-400. - Arrived at 8:20AM. Check in took 5 minutes. Waited another 15-20 before we were called. - Interviewer was extremely friendly, explained what the process was going to look like and began with an oath to say the truth. - Civics part was first and after answering 6/6 that ended. Then reading and writing. Then Yes and No questions. My attorney gave the IO my recent travels and updated the file. - He handed me a paper that said recommended for approval. He asked if I could take my oath today and then asked me to wait downstairs for it. - Case status got 4 updates since then... 1) We recommended N400 for approval 2) Your application was placed in line for oath ceremony 3) Oath ceremony notice was mailed 4) Certificate of Naturalization was issued - I assume that it will switch to approved in the coming days. - No additional documents were requested. At no point did I submit tax transcripts or was requested to do so. Only evidence I ever provided was, marriage certificate, green card copy, traffic ticket copy, selective services copy and the passport copy. Filed under 5 yr rule. No RFEs Total time from mailing date to oath ceremony is exactly 4 months. Overall great experience. Was in and out in 1 hour. I am happy to have concluded my journey to the citizenship and that I will no longer have to communicate with the USCIS. Thank you all who have helped me throughout my journey. I will be staying here hoping to help someone else. P.S wanted to update this thread as well in case someone comes upon in later. I did post elsewhere yesterday.
  13. Status updated again this morning to show "Certificate of Naturalization was issued".
  14. Thank you! It does feel good to be rid of that department.

  16. US citizenship applications have been moving forward fast. If you apply now you are very likely to naturalize within 6-8 months. Potentially much earlier too. Once you naturalize you can be away for as long as you want and return any time you want. You'd still need to declare and file US taxes as US requires reporting your worldwide income. You'd then likely need a seasoned accountant who know treaties and foreign tax reporting. Sorry I can only address some parts of your question.
  17. I just got the notice that my interview was scheduled for 9/27. Applied 5/26 (5 year rule) Check cashed 6/2 Interview Scheduled 8/20 No RFE. So close to being done!

  19. I think so.. Not sure. I think 6 months is average or has been lately
  20. I am in Raleigh too. Filed on 5/26. Biometrics were re-used and now it shows "case is being actively reviewed". Keep us posted if you get any movement.
