Hi good night everyone. My wife and I just completed our  i-130 process. She filled for me. It took about 10 months total. My interview was a few days ago.  I'm suppose to pick up my visa next week at a DHL post office. After that I'm booking my ticket to fly to California.

I guess my next step is my AOS. Can I get some info on that? Like when can I start it and the cost of it? Someone told me my AOS process can cost almost $1800us and I almost choked. Is this true?

Congrats! As soon as you step into the country, you can file your I-485, EAD and AP. It costs $1140 plus 85 dollars for biometrics fees. it is not up to $1800 to file it. Its a total of $1,225

Walmart isn't a Financial institution however MoneyGram is. 😉

I just read at the link @Agneska sent this part:

"USCIS no longer accepts forms submitted without the correct biometric services fees. You must pay the applicable biometric services fees at the time you file your form. We will reject your form if we receive it without the correct biometric services fee, as specified in the form instructions."

So I guess that's it. I didn't submit a money order in the exact amount for the biometric service fee.

The correct filing fees for I-485 and biometrics is $1225. ( you bought the correct amount. I think it was reject because it was bought from Walmart. Just email them while you cancel the money order from Walmart and issue a check or buy from US financial institutions. I will say for certain that mine was bought from USPS and it was accepted...

    Hello January filers!

I got on the mail today my whole package back and I hope you guys can help me figure something out. They stated that they rejected my i-485 (plus i-131, i-765) because of the incorrect amount.

But, as far as I know, we had to pay 1,225$ (1,140+85 for biometrics), right? Maybe they rejected because when I went to Walmart to get the money order, they couldn't do one for 1,225 so they did 2 orders (725+500).

That's the only explanation I could find. Can anyone help me?

    Thanks!

That is surprising, I will suggest you buy your money order from USPS. I bought mine there and they usually split it into a 1000 dollars and then the balance, if what you are paying for is more than a thousand. I filed application form I-130, I-485, I-131, I-765. Everything came to 1,760 i.e: $535, $1,140 and $85. Since you are just filing I-485, EAD and AP, you are correct.. the total fees is 1225. Maybe you should call them directly or just cancel the money order from Walmart and purchase it from USPS or better still issue a check.

    Hey guys,

I sent my package on 1-10, it was supposed to be a 2 day delivery. Tracking says "In transit: Arrived at Post Office Chicago, IL 60680" since 1-13.

I'm starting to freak out a little bit. 😥😖

Does anybody knows if they check the PO box everyday?

Riding on my experience, I will say don't worry. call USPS to raise an inquiry and just relax. it will get there.

    Hi everyone,

    here is my timeline:

I sent my package on December 28th, 2017 to Chicago via USPS priority mail. They delayed my package for some days and was finally delivered on January 7th, 2018 which was a Sunday (will not use them again for such sensitive matters)  my AOSEAD, AP, and petitioner's I-130 application.

The following supporting documents were included:

Affidavit of support (Form I-864), marriage certificate, tax return, joint account doc, pictures, affidavit from brother-in-law, pay-stubs, joint health insurance, birth certificates, passport page, I-94 record, visa page, SSN doc, driver's licence and passport photographs.

***Did not submit the Medical form I-693***

January 11, Received email and text messages yesterday by 11.47pm that my application have been accepted and routed to the National Benefits Center. (MSC). That will be Missouri..

Hopefully the I-797 notice will arrive in my mailbox anytime from now.

Yayy!!! Picked up the I-797C in my mail box this morning. Apparently it was delivered yesterday.

Surprisingly, my PD was January 5th. USPS delivered the package on January 7th. Fingers crossed and hoping that the biometrics notice will come so fast.

    Good luck everyone.

Yes, I tracked and called USPS, it will take them 2-3 business days to search and said not sure where is the package now.

Since all my forms and paperwork is lost in somewhere and therefore, I will not receive my NOA1 soon,  my time is running short.

I am thinking to send another package out tomorrow by FEDEX, really hope I can make it by 2/8.

Your package is not lost. Do not stress yourself sending another package as this may cause some confusion with USCIS. Your package will be delivered eventually.  My package was also delayed by USPS and an inquiry was opened after which it was delivered 5 days later to Chicago. I I mailed my packed on December 28th(Priority Mail) and the expected date of delivery was January 2nd, it was delivered on January 7th. It took almost two days after an inquiry was opened for the status of my package to be updated.

Also, you will not get the call from USPS as promised at the scheduled time. I received a call from them two days ago asking to close the inquiry since my package has been delivered.

Just relax  and give some 5 days added timeline for the delivery. Goodluck
