    It was more emotional abuse than physical. I was made to sleep outside the house in the open and was punched/slapped couple of times throughout the relationship but no way to physically document it as I was never bruised or injured. It’s hard to document physical abuse when there is no physical injuries. I have never thought of calling the cops on my ex when we were together..

    Coming up two years since I filed VAWA which means my time should be soon… looking back I had only submitted my personal statement, along with evidence of bona fide marriage to US citizen, a screenshot of text message trying to show abuse, and a psychiatrist (who is trained on interviewing VAWA applicants / abuse survivors) report. In that report the doctor concluded that it is in her professional opinion that she found my statements of abuse to be truthful and I am medically diagnosed to be severely depressed and anxiety due to abuse. All that was what I sent to USCIS…. What are you guys’ honest opinion on my case being approved

    Ead renewal based on C9 category (based on underlying I-485 held in abeyance; pending VAWA approval) - what is the length of validity uscis grant the renewed cards for these days? When the card was first approved and issued during 2020, I was approved for 2 years. Will the renewed card be given 2 years too? @Sandra G.

    @Deee Smith- did you get your receipt notices? I haven’t gotten mine yet, but I received USPS informed delivery that my return receipt associated with the ead/ap renewal forms is en route to me….

    Your lawyer mailed your c9 EAD renewal package to VSC? I’m guessing You have a pending VAWA with them as well, and your EAD was based on family based AOS

    if VSC was the wrong place, I wonder if they would send us back the whole package that we had sent them

    @Deee Smith I recognize your name as one of the main contributors here. But my concern/confusion is because on USCIS’ website it says to send EAD renewal to VSC if there is an “approved I-360”. did you send your ead renewal to VSC as well with a pending VAWA Application? I’ll look into contacting my congressman that week of 4/3 as well but I did send them a physical mail this week in writing to ask them to look into sending receipt notices ASAP as it’s been more than 30 days since they received my forms

    I’m starting to think I mailed my C9 EAD and Advance Parole renewals wrongly to VSC, that’s why I have not received my receipt notices after 35 days or so since VSC received my renewal applications. Looks like I should have mailed it to USCIS Chicago Lockbox since I live in Massachusetts and my VAWA application has not yet been approved. My C9 EAD was received two years ago under family based adjustment of status. @sandranj

    30 days has passed since VSC accepted my Ead renewal package and still no receipt notice…. Is this normal? What’s the current wait time to receive a receipt notice from VSC ?

    Mailed out my EAD and AP renewal and paper AR-11 on Feb 18 and USCIS received it on Feb 21.. I moved into my new place on March 1 but the problem is my new place does not have a mail receptacle yet and I just learned that USPS has been returning all my mails to senders... my question for the group is how long, on average, does it take for USCIS to mail out receipt notices once they have received your application forms and if receipt notices are indeed returned to USCIS, what should I do?

    I figured as much. It would not make any sense for VSC to open up my packet and process it today when they have other stuff to do. It is not like they’re known to be super efficient or anything.

    As luck would have it.. USPS is gonna deliver my ead renewal 4 days earlier than their own estimate…. My ead expires 8/18/23 so 180 days prior is 2/19/23…. Looks like VSC will be receiving my ead renewal packet today on 2/17/23…. My forms are signed dated for 2/21/23… any idea what will happen? Anything like that has happened to anyone here before? @balo101@sandranj @TBoneTX

    What happens if USPS delivers mail to VSC on Saturday? Since VSC doesn’t work on Saturday and Sunday

    Others please chime in but is it common for USCIS to deny EAD renewal if they had previously denied I-485 but subsequently decide to reverse the denial and approve the reopening of i-485? @sandranj
