  1. “Request that they forward your case to Vermont or Nebraska, where you originally mailed your I-360.” is this necessary? I informed my local office to resume adjudicating my I-485 without telling them to forward the case to Vermont
  2. Has anyone been approved for GC without submitting medical examination ?
  3. I am planning to write to my local field office (Lawrence) to inform them that my VAWA has been approved and for them to continue adjudicating my I-485. i had previously informed Lawrence to hold 485 in abeyance and transfer its underlying basis from I-130 to I-360. question - what is the policy around timeline VSC has to inform Lawrence that they have approved my I-360?
  4. Apologies. I just checked my original communication to Lawrence Field Office when I mailed them my request to hold it in abeyance. I did write to them and ask USCIS to transfer the underlying basis of my I-485 to I-360. In the same letter, I also asked USCIS to keep my I-485 application in abeyance until the I-360 has been adjudicated and a decision has been rendered. in this case, do I still need to write a letter to Lawrence and ask them to resume processing my I-485? *edit* — this is what I have written: Dear Officer: Please be advised that my I-360, VAWA SELF-PETITION, EAC-XXXXXXX has been approved on February 6, 2025. Herein attached is my Notice of Receipt for the I-485 application and my I-360 approval notice. The transfer of the underlying basis of pending I-485 to I-360 alongside my abeyance request of the I-485 until a decision is rendered on my I-360 application was requested in writing to Lawrence Field Office on November 4, 2021.
  5. My I-485 and I-130 are both in Lawrence, MA field office as I reside in MA. I’d be sending that letter as you suggested to the Lawrence Field Office, yes? Bottom line no matter how I slice this pie, I would have to do something about it and not wait for USCIS to initiate the next step for me.
  6. Correct. It was just put in abeyance and nothing else
  7. I have previously filed for I-130 and I-485 both of which are held in abeyance in my local field office. What should I do next now that my VAWA is approved? Do I write my local field office a letter to request them to restart my AOS process and provide them a copy of my VAWA approval ?
  8. Does that mean my VAWA is finally approved??? What next steps should I take to inform my local field office to continue processing my I-485? I’ve had previously mailed them a letter (when I applied for I-360) to hold my AOS in abeyance
  9. Hi Sandra, my case was not transferred to Nebraska. it is still with Vermont. I sent my combo card renewal to Vermont
  10. @Demise per Sandra’s post, it looks like I should be sending to Vermont not Nebraska? I do not have approved VAWA - still pending. But I have C9 based on pending 485
  11. @Demise but I am pending VAWA approval? I don’t have approved I-360 to send together with my renewal package. all I have are the renewal 765 and 131 forms, 4 photos, copy of my current combo card, and I-797 for my I-485
  12. @Demise @Sandra G. where should i be sending I-765 and I-131 renewal? My previous renewal was 2 years ago and I sent it to Vermont. Just to Clarify I’m pending VAWA so my ead is C9 based on I-485. I had originally sent my VAWA to Vermont and they did not transfer my case to Nebraska.
  13. hi all — where should i be sending I-765 and I-131 renewal? My previous renewal was 2 years ago and I sent it to Vermont. Just to Clarify I’m pending VAWA so my ead is C9 based on I-485. I had originally sent my VAWA to Vermont and they did not transfer my case to Nebraska.
  14. It was more emotional abuse than physical. I was made to sleep outside the house in the open and was punched/slapped couple of times throughout the relationship but no way to physically document it as I was never bruised or injured. It’s hard to document physical abuse when there is no physical injuries. I have never thought of calling the cops on my ex when we were together..
  15. Coming up two years since I filed VAWA which means my time should be soon… looking back I had only submitted my personal statement, along with evidence of bona fide marriage to US citizen, a screenshot of text message trying to show abuse, and a psychiatrist (who is trained on interviewing VAWA applicants / abuse survivors) report. In that report the doctor concluded that it is in her professional opinion that she found my statements of abuse to be truthful and I am medically diagnosed to be severely depressed and anxiety due to abuse. All that was what I sent to USCIS…. What are you guys’ honest opinion on my case being approved
