  1. No I went in person to the passport office here in Houston because I am traveling on a cruise this Saturday. You can get a passport in a few days/same day if you have travel plans within two weeks. Just I paid like 225 for the passport and the expedite fee. And no the passport card wouldn’t serve me any good as I usually travel by air and internationally. So i just got the book. I have no reason to drive to Canada lol
  2. Your oath will be 2-3 weeks after you interview or maybe sooner. I had my oath 2.5 week after my interview. Got my expedited US passport yesterday had appointment last Wednesday and picked up yesterday.
  3. So basically in order for the N-600, attending the oath is necessary? Good info to know. My daughter is a citizen by birth and future children will be too but this is very good info to know for those with kids coming over with them.
  4. They use your green card photo for the certificate at least when I got my certificate at my naturalization ceremony this past Wednesday it had my GC picture on it
  5. Had oath in Houston today. Immigration journey is finally done! And thanks to VJ for supplying the tools and information to apply for these forms. Did everything from AOS to i751 and N400 myself.
  6. They say it starts at 8 o’clock on the letter but didn’t start until 10 ..it was 1351 people and 111 countries. The speaker and judge gave excellent speeches. Yes family is allowed to come in and watch. Finally done with my immigration journey , it’s going to feel weird not grabbing my green card when I am traveling abroad. Your GC picture will be on your naturalization certificate.
  7. Just curious as I was going over the form we have to bring to the ceremony. Has any one ever gotten a traffic ticket/violation a few days before their oath ceremony? If so what did you have to do? Do they still let you do the oath etc I am talking a few days before ceremony and you don’t have time to pay the ticket etc . Just curious if something like this would be a non issue or they make a big deal out of it.

  9. As said above dont panic. My N-400 is missing as well and my oath is less than two weeks away. There are probably doing maintenance on the weekend like any other gov site.
  10. Don’t sweat it. i had mine 2 Fridays ago and I just drew in the pad with my finger. It wasn’t pretty but they just want to make sure you can write correctly and spell sentences. Dont worry it isn’t a penmanship test
  11. Got my Oath schedule today. So 3 days after interview. It’s May 8th.
  12. Very good. The lady was extremely nice and easy going. We talked about how she vacationed in my country a few times etc etc and my wife's job(shes a federal agent too) overall it was 10/10.
  13. Had my interview 3 days ago 4/19 and Oath was scheduled this morning for Wed May 8th at 8am. So, 3 days from interview to Oath Scheduled. Thanks to the good Lord!

  15. MY wife would probably divorce me if i asked her to cancel this trip that she has been wanting to go on for years and its our anniversary and everything is already paid for and literally all our family is going already so cancelling is not an option. LOL I am not in a rush I know the IO said to just reschedule people do it all the time if they have to travel she said its pretty common but if i could get a passport in a few days and pay a hundred bucks or two i don't mind just to be done with it. Nah but I see they are doing it within 30-45 days which would push me right at the edge.
  16. Had interview today and passed here in Houston. Traveling at the end of May to go out of the country (MY WIFE DOES NOT WANT TO CANCEL THIS TRIP). Assuming my Oath is next month, Has anybody successfully taken the Oath and applied for an emergency/urgent passport right after due to already booked traveled plans? If so, could you please explain the process and where I would need to go in order to do this, if this situation comes up. I would have rescheduling it as a last option as I am ready to be done with this immigration journey! Thanks
  17. Nah i brought a binder with tax transcripts etc and didn't bother to look at anything I brought. She did ask the question do you owe any taxes and of course I said no
  18. Submitted date 1/23/2024 Interview Sceduled 3/14/2024 Interview date 04/19/2024 Well had my interview first thing this am in Houston. Time was 7am but arrived 15 mins before and checked in, did biometrics etc after that. Got called maybe 10 minutes later or so by the IO. She was very very very nice. Did civics test and got all 6 first try, very easy questions. Then the yes no and we chatted a bit. Asked my wife's name, kids name where I live etc. It was very easy going and we joked and laughed a bit about somethings. Approved on the spot. Waiting for Oath to be scheduled. I informed her that I have traveled plans at the end of May and she said no big deal just reschedule your Oath, they make it easy to do this. Overall, 10/10 experience with the office and this officer.
