On the 21st, they asked you for supporting evidence. Since you haven't received an email, it means that they mailed it to you. I guess different officers have different preferences; ours prefer to mail things.
My letter took just over a week to get to me, so just hold tight.
Yeah we just got it. And this was the letter. Which is kind of stupid since we hadn't even submitted evidence yet. How can the evidence be insufficient if you haven't seen it? This just screams laziness.

Received the following three messages a few days after calling them for an expedite request. But I'm a bit confused as to what the next step is supposed to be. The message I circled seems to imply they sent a response. But if I'm reading you guys right, that response comes in an email, which we haven't received. Or is it supposed to be by mail? Or is the officer still reviewing it? Just confused

Unless you have a valid reason to expedite, you’re not gonna get anywhere with either your congressman or USCIS. Financial hardship is the couple is struggling because the beneficiary hasn’t worked and has been offered a job. Basically if you don’t have a job offer don’t except an expedite. And BTW, a month is nothing. We have all been waiting a really long time. my thoughts to you is go on interviews and get someone to offer you a job. Then file for an expedite with USCIS with a job offer and then call your reps. Calling your reps without an expedite is not gonna do anything because the answer they’ll give your reps will be that you’re still in the standard processing times.
That was my thought, wasn't sure if it's worth contacting the congressman/rep if you haven't officially filed for expedition with uscis due to no real hardship. Thanks.
Going to get a job offer (that will probably be rescinded eventually, depending on employer) and then start the process

A couple of questions:
1- Is it worth reaching out to the state rep/congressman if you have NOT expedited your EAD with USCIS. If so what exactly do you say?
2- If the above is no, and you need to actually expedite with USCIS then what all qualifies as "financial hardship"? And what kind of evidence can submitted with for the first part of this question?Basically, I want to contact my rep to help me move things through but don't really want to submit and expedite request through USCIS first. Also the case was received a month ago, so it's not like we've been waiting for a while either. SO I don't know if I will have a good case, but want to do anything that can potentially help speed things up.
Thanks for any answer.

Don't worry about that at all. I filed online March 22nd and had my ceremony on July 11th. While waiting for my ceremony (which was scheduled for the aforementioned date), the timeline showed like Jan 2019 on there.
Also after I passed my interview in early June, it still showed April 2019 as estimate. So basically, don't worry about those dates too much.

So based on the (small, I know) sample size of this thread, has it been established that online is faster?
It's obviously better in my opinion, but not sure f faster is kind of the consensus.
I applied March 22nd and I have an interview on June 12th. That's pretty crazy

Ok thank you, that's what I suspected

Hello all!
I will skip to main points, as we seek some guidance about our situation.
Husband: permanent resident and eligible for N400 filing
Wife: Overstayed tourist visa (past both the 6 months and 1 year limits)
Complete the N400 process first? File at the same time (I-130 and N-400) and upgrade petition when N400 is complete (concerned about overstay in this case)?
More details on request. Thank you!

I guess I'm confused...again. Obviously I know what I said on the phone was not enough EVEIDENCE.I was expecting a "submit evidence here" type of letter. And this doesn't sound like that at all.
