    My wife became a US Citizen today, she has a 16 year old child and wants to apply for his certificate N600. Do people normally also apply for the passport now as the same time as the N600? What would you recomnnend?

    I know the interview asking her questions about US history will be verbal. When they ask for the additional documents wonder if I will be allowed to help her search through the mountain of documents we are briging.

    before 18 he becomes a US citizen but need to pay $1385 to prove it... crazy

    I am a US Citizen married my Colombian wife 3 years ago she has a 16 year old son who lives with us in the US. We are filling out the N400 to begin the Citizenship paper work for my wife. Do I file for my step son the 16 year old now as well and fill out a separate N400 form for him? Not sure how to or do I have to wait ? He has green card as well like my wife.

    so odd to me that he automatically becomes a citizen but yet has to apply and pay double to prove it.... what a racket

    if he automatically becomes a citizen why would anyone pay $1385?

    So for my wife I would need an N-400 and a N-600 get her citizenship?its $1385 just for the N-600 and another $710 N-400 yikes

    Both,of them have 10 year green cards. So I will apply for my wife for her to become a citizen. Let’s say she gets approved in a year do I then file the N600 which cost double the N400 for him to get the paper work saying he’s a citizen?

    Is there another form that needs to be filled out since he’s a minor now?

    sorry that was a typo the 3 year mark is coming up for both my wife and 16 year old step son. Do I fill out the N-400 for both of them and pay the fee for each invidually?
