Savannah and I met in January 2015 in the Gold Coast, Australia whilst on working holiday visas. We both worked as hostel reps and met working for the same club crawl company. I had always heard that American girls loved the English accent. I introduced myself saying, 'hello, i'm an English gentleman'. A line which received an unimpressed eye roll from Savannah! Persiverance paid off however and within a couple weeks she finally agreed to a date with me. To this day Savannah likes to joke that she went to Australia looking for an Australian and came home with an Englishman! We spent the remainder of our time together in Australia and have been back and forth to see each other ever since.
