  1. Something very strange is going on at the USCIS... My wife came here on a K1 visa at the beginning of 2020. We got married, she applied for and received her conditional green card, then applied for removing conditions and got her 10 year green card. She has been eligible to apply for citizenship for a while. She has applied twice and the n400 was rejected twice for invalid reasons: 1. First n400 filing. One of the pages was "missing." It was NOT missing. The entries on the "missing" page were merely handwritten in black ink, and fully legible. We also provided our federal and state tax returns for the reduced fee, and we definitely made <400% of the federal hhs poverty level for our family size in 2024. However, they claimed we provided the wrong fee. 2. Second n400 filing. We were told we used an outdated version of the form which is why it was rejected. I checked today online and our returned form, it's indeed the current version of the form! I did file the prior papers with the same dates, just with the previously "missing page" printed from a computer rather than handwritten. So what the #### is going on at the USCIS? Are they hiring incompetent workers now? Are they just trying to prevent people from becoming US citizens?
  2. 1. Is there a biometrics fee for the n400? If so, what is it? I can't find any specific number under the n400 instructions. 2. My wife made more than me on our most recent tax return and that's still the case. Our only dependent listed on that tax return is our son. I filed the return, but since my wife makes more than me therefore providing the majority of the household income, shouldn't she be listed as head of the household, per the n400 instructions? Thank you!
  3. Yes, exactly that. I'm a bit of a noob, could you fill me in on what the earlier interpretation was?
  4. Hey, I recall when Trump was elected/sworn in, there were a lot of requirements for new immigrants applying for a green card to list if they'd ever used any United States public benefits. They also had to report a credit score, any degrees they'd earned, classes they'd taken, etc. I think it's been done away with, but with a Trump victory in 2024 well within the realm of possibility, what exactly are the restrictions on permanent residents receiving government aid, if any, as far as the USCIS and Department of State go? Thank you!
  5. Hey guys- My wife came to the US on a K1 visa and got her conditional 2 year green card March 2021. We filed the ROC about a year ago and it's estimated it'll take until March 2025 to process it. However, since she hasn't moved in the past 3 months, has been married to me (US citizen by birth) >3 years, and has been a lawful permanent resident for >3 years, she's now able to apply for US citizenship. Should we wait for ROC to process or just get started on the N400? Thank you!
