  1. 3 year rule, we just took our time with it. Surname change; we have her green card and SSN card in our (my family) name, but her Ukraine passport is still in her maiden name. We've applied to have it changed with her citizenship and US Passport. If we face delays we could have the Ukranian consulate change the surname on her passport--this was nearly a problem as we were exiting the EU this summer.
  2. Hi folks, we've made it through all steps of the journey except citizenship. My wife and I have been married for 6 years but we'd like to wrap it up within six months if possible so there's less trouble traveling back to Europe next summer. I filed the N-400 online today and it was relatively easy for USCIS. It's stating a projected processing time of 7 months. If it's a straightforward application, think it could be turned around and onto the next step (biometrics) quicker?
